Changsha Yuanda Container Modular Building

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

The Changsha Yuanda container modular building mainly refers to the 'Living Building,' an innovative stainless-steel low-carbon building introduced by Broad Group. The following provides an introduction from three aspects: technical features, construction advantages, and typical projects.

The 'Living Building' adopts factory-assembled construction technology and uses 40-foot container dimensions as building modules for transportation. Its core material is stainless steel, which is corrosion-resistant, high-strength, and long-lasting. Compared to traditional building materials, it can significantly reduce maintenance costs and carbon emissions throughout the building's lifecycle. Modular design allows building components to be prefabricated in factories, ensuring quality stability through standardized production while reducing errors and waste during on-site construction. For transportation, the internationally standard 40-foot container size is used, facilitating sea, land, and multimodal transport to quickly reach project sites worldwide.

On-site installation is achieved through bolt connections, enabling a daily construction speed of up to 3 floors and supporting disassembly and relocation for reuse. The bolt connection method eliminates the need for traditional welding or concrete pouring processes, requiring no heavy machinery and only manual operations for module assembly, greatly shortening the construction period. Taking the first 11-story residential project, 'Home No. 1,' as an example, the project was completed in Changsha on June 5, 2021, with the foundation construction to roof sealing taking only about 29 hours, far exceeding the daily construction rate of traditional buildings. Additionally, the modular structure of the 'Living Building' makes it detachable. After the building's service life ends, modules can be separated by removing bolts and transported to new locations for reassembly, achieving efficient resource recycling and aligning with green building and sustainable development concepts.

'Home No. 1,' as a flagship project of the 'Living Building,' has validated the feasibility and mass production capabilities of the technology. This 11-story residential project features a full stainless-steel structure, integrating thermal insulation, sound insulation, and fire resistance, with indoor comfort levels meeting conventional building standards. Its rapid construction process has attracted industry attention, marking the 'Living Building's transition from the R&D phase to large-scale production and application. Currently, Broad Group has promoted the 'Living Building' technology globally, providing low-carbon and efficient building solutions for urban renewal, emergency housing, tourism resorts, and other fields.
