Can Container Houses Be Equipped with Heating?

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Container houses can be equipped with heating, and there are multiple heating methods available.

On one hand, installing heating equipment is a direct way to heat container houses. Common heating equipment includes electric heaters, gas heaters, and solar heating systems. Taking underfloor heating as an example, many container houses have now achieved full coverage of underfloor heating. The installation of underfloor heating is designed and modified according to the characteristics of steel. First, a 2 - 3 cm thick graphene XPS extruded insulation board is laid on the ground base. Its temperature resistance range can reach from -20℃ to 75℃, which can effectively lock in heat, reduce energy consumption, isolate underground moisture, and prevent the steel main body from rusting and aging. Above the insulation board, an acrylic reflective film is laid to reduce heat loss, and then a snap-lock floor is laid to reflect heat into the room, improving heating efficiency. Moreover, the graphene XPS extruded insulation board uses an electric heating mode, and its energy-saving effect can reach about 30% compared with traditional boiler-type underfloor heating. Combined with a comprehensive insulation layer design, its overall energy consumption is even lower than that of traditional air conditioners.

On the other hand, using insulation materials during the construction process can enhance the thermal insulation performance of container houses. Common insulation materials include mineral wool, polystyrene boards, and rock wool boards, which can effectively reduce heat loss and improve insulation effects. In addition, it is also crucial to increase the thermal insulation measures for windows and vents, such as installing double-glazed windows, using curtains, and adding insulation materials to vents, all of which can further reduce heat loss.

Reasonable passive design also helps container houses stay warm in cold weather. By reasonably arranging the house structure, natural light and heat can be fully utilized. Well-designed insulation layers and heat storage spaces enable the house to absorb and store heat during the day and release it at night, thus maintaining a stable indoor temperature.
