Beijing Mobile Public Toilets
The construction and renovation of mobile public toilets in Beijing continued to advance in 2025, covering multiple scenarios such as parks and transportation hubs, with a focus on enhancing convenience and service quality.

I. Park Scenario: Improvement of Modular Mobile Public Toilets
A newly improved modular mobile public toilet has been installed in the park north of Mingguang Bridge in Haidian District, with its core features being functional integration and human-centered design. The toilet has added barrier-free facilities, including an independent barrier-free restroom equipped with a children's toilet seat, a baby changing table, safety handrails, and an emergency call device. These facilities cater to the needs of special groups such as the elderly, families with young children, and people with disabilities. For example, the children's toilet seat reduces the difficulty for children to use the toilet, the baby changing table provides a convenient space for parents to change diapers, and the safety handrails and emergency call device ensure the safety of those with mobility impairments. The modular design also gives the toilet the advantages of rapid deployment and flexible adjustment, allowing the number of toilet stalls to be increased or decreased according to the park's pedestrian density or event needs, thereby improving resource utilization efficiency.
II. Transportation Hub Scenario: Introduction of Mobile Public Toilet Rental Services
The taxi dispatch station in the Beijing North Station area has introduced mobile public toilets through a rental project, which is managed by the Beijing Municipal Key Station Area Management Committee with a budget of 374,350 yuan. The project aims to address the difficulty of finding toilets in the dispatch station area, serving taxi drivers, passengers, and staff. The rental model is characterized by comprehensive services. In addition to providing mobile public toilet facilities, it usually includes full-process management such as daily cleaning, maintenance, and consumable replenishment to ensure that the toilets remain in a usable state. Such projects typically adopt short-term or long-term rental contracts and can adjust the service period according to passenger flow changes at transportation hubs, such as extending service hours or increasing the number of toilet stalls during holidays or large-scale events.
III. Policy Background and Technological Trends
The advancement of mobile public toilets in Beijing is deeply linked to the "Toilet Revolution" policy, with the core goal of increasing the coverage and service quality of public sanitation facilities. The combination of modular technology, barrier-free design, and rental service models reflects the trend of public facility construction towards intelligence, refinement, and sustainability. In the future, mobile public toilets may further integrate Internet of Things (IoT) technology to achieve real-time monitoring of toilet stall usage and automatic scheduling of cleaning staff, optimizing resource allocation and reducing operating costs.
