Automatic Charging Mobile Toilet
An automatic charging mobile toilet is a flexible, self-contained sanitation facility that charges users for its services, with its core features being 'mobility' and 'charging'. Its emergence is primarily based on the following reasons:

1. Operational cost considerations In temporary or specific areas (such as music festivals, sporting events, construction sites, temporary markets, etc.), the cost of building fixed public toilets is high and difficult to meet short-term demand. Mobile toilets are operated by professional companies, which require investment in production or purchase, transportation, installation, cleaning and maintenance, replenishment of consumables (such as toilet paper, hand sanitizer), and treatment of fecal wastewater. By charging a small fee, some operational costs can be covered, and operators are incentivized to keep the facilities clean and hygienic, avoiding inadequate maintenance due to free use.
2. Crowd flow regulation needs In venues with extremely high foot traffic (such as large-scale events, peak periods at tourist attractions), free public toilets are prone to resource shortages due to overuse, and even waste phenomena (such as prolonged occupation, malicious damage). The charging mechanism can manage usage frequency through economic means, ensuring that resources are prioritized for those in need, while reducing non-essential use and improving overall service efficiency.
Main types and characteristics
- Simple type: Small in size and simple in structure, usually equipped with flush toilets, chemical degradation or packing toilets, and simple handwashing devices (such as pressure nozzles or hand sanitizer). Quick to deploy and low in cost, suitable for construction sites or short-term outdoor events, but with relatively limited sanitary conditions.
- Trailer-mounted toilet units: Moved by vehicles, with spacious interiors that may include multiple independent stalls for gender separation, and equipped with mirrors, regular handwashing basins, hand dryers, etc. Good sanitary conditions and user experience, commonly found around tourist attractions or large-scale events to meet medium to high traffic demands.
- Smart mobile toilets: Integrated with solar panels for power supply, automatic lighting, smart flushing systems, and even sensors to monitor stall usage (such as occupancy, duration of use) and environmental indicators (such as odors, temperature, and humidity). High in technological content and easy for back-end management, but with significantly higher investment and operational costs, suitable for scenarios with extremely high sanitation and service requirements.
Fee standards: Currently, there are no unified national regulations, and fees are usually set by operators based on facility type, usage scenario, and local consumption levels.
