Activity House Homestay Container

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

The homestay container is a type of accommodation space transformed from shipping containers, characterized by short construction periods, environmental protection, energy efficiency, and strong adaptability. It finds applications in tourist attractions, rural areas, and large-scale event venues.

1. Core Features
The homestay container uses standard shipping containers as its base structure, which are then reinforced and internally renovated to create accommodation units. Its greatest advantage is the short construction period, with the shortest time from design to opening being just 45 days, significantly shorter than traditional buildings. Additionally, it is often equipped with a photovoltaic power supply system and a rainwater harvesting device, reducing energy consumption through solar power generation and rainwater collection and utilization, achieving environmental protection and energy efficiency goals. Its modular design enables rapid assembly and disassembly, as well as repeated use, and it has strong adaptability to terrain, allowing deployment in complex environments such as mountains, seaside, and rural areas.

2. Application Scenarios

  • Tourism and Rural Development: In China, multiple container homestay projects have been implemented in locations such as Mogan Mountain in Zhejiang, Dali in Yunnan, Yangshuo in Guilin, and Yangshan Island in Lianyungang, Jiangsu. Some projects enhance their uniqueness by incorporating regional cultural elements, such as using paper-cut art to decorate walls and brick carving techniques to showcase local history, making the accommodation spaces combine modern functionality with cultural connotations.
  • Temporary Accommodation for Large-Scale Events: Container houses are also frequently used as temporary accommodation facilities for events such as sports competitions and exhibitions. For example, the Nagoya Asian Games once used containers as athlete dormitories, but issues such as toilet leaks and insufficient bed lengths were exposed in practice, requiring improvements through optimized waterproofing designs and adjusted furniture sizes.

3. Practical Cases and Improvement Directions
Domestic container homestay projects mostly focus on tourist hotspots, forming clustered accommodation areas through modular combinations, meeting tourist demands while reducing land occupation costs. In large-scale event applications, it is necessary to focus on resolving the contradiction between comfort and functionality: for example, adding soundproofing materials to enhance privacy, optimizing pipeline layouts to prevent leaks, or using adjustable furniture to accommodate users of different body types. In the future, with advances in material science and design concepts, container homestays are expected to make further breakthroughs in intelligence (such as integrating IoT devices) and personalization (such as customized appearances).
