Exterior Wall Panels for Mobile Container Houses

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Common materials for exterior wall panels of mobile container houses include corrugated steel sheets with wave patterns and carbon steel, with corrugated steel sheets being more widely used.

Corrugated Steel Sheets: The Mainstream Choice with Excellent Performance

The most commonly used material for exterior wall panels of mobile container houses is corrugated steel sheets with wave patterns. These sheets are made from galvanized steel as the base material and are formed into a wavy texture through a pressing process. Their key advantages include:

  • Lightweight: Galvanized steel has a relatively low density, and the corrugated structure after pressing further reduces the weight of the panels, facilitating transportation and installation, especially suitable for mobile container houses that require frequent relocation.
  • Impact Resistance: The wavy design enhances the rigidity of the panels, making them less prone to deformation when subjected to external forces. This effectively withstands collisions during transportation or accidental impacts during use.
  • Corrosion Resistance: The galvanizing process forms a dense zinc layer on the surface of the steel sheet, which isolates moisture and oxygen, significantly reducing the risk of corrosion. This characteristic allows the panels to be used for a long time in high-humidity and high-salt-spray environments such as coastal areas, extending the service life of the exterior wall panels.

Carbon Steel: A Supplementary Choice for Specific Scenarios

In addition to corrugated steel sheets, some exterior wall panels of mobile container houses use carbon steel. Carbon steel is an iron-carbon alloy with a relatively high carbon content, and its characteristics include:

  • High Strength: Carbon steel has superior mechanical properties compared to ordinary galvanized steel sheets, making it suitable for scenarios with higher structural strength requirements, such as container houses that need to bear heavy loads or resist strong winds.
  • Cost Flexibility: The price of carbon steel is greatly influenced by market supply and demand. When the cost of galvanized steel sheets is high, carbon steel can serve as an economical alternative, but it requires surface treatment (such as painting) to enhance its corrosion resistance.
  • Processing Adaptability: Carbon steel is easy to cut, weld, and shape, meeting customized design requirements, such as fabricating exterior wall panels with special shapes or integrating other functional components.

Comprehensive Consideration for Material Selection

When selecting the material for exterior wall panels, it is necessary to consider the usage environment, cost budget, and functional requirements. In humid or corrosive environments, the corrosion resistance and lightweight characteristics of corrugated steel sheets are more advantageous; if there are special requirements for strength or cost, carbon steel may be more suitable. Additionally, both materials can further optimize their performance through surface coatings, such as adding fire resistance, sound insulation, or decorative functions.
