Zigong Mobile Toilet Incident

Admin September 22, 2026

The incidents related to mobile toilets in Zigong mainly include two types: the overall relocation of public toilets and the deployment of single-unit mobile packaged toilets.

Overall Relocation of Public Toilets

An innovative overall relocation project for public toilets once took place in Zigong. A newly built public toilet near Heping Garden Community on Dongyandu Avenue required relocation because the original site was planned for the construction of a civic square. The construction team employed an overall bridge-crossing suspended relocation technology. Weighing over 600 tons, the public toilet was successfully relocated 26 meters eastward and 16 meters northward, with a final settlement of 2 meters, using this advanced technology. This project was the first of its kind implemented in Sichuan Province, marking a pioneering achievement.

The relocation process took approximately half a month, during which the relocation speed and direction had to be precisely controlled to ensure the structural stability and safety of the public toilet. After the relocation, the construction team recast the foundation to ensure the public toilet could be firmly situated in its new location. This measure not only preserved the main building structure, avoiding resource waste and environmental pollution caused by demolition and reconstruction, but also saved significant costs, embodying the principles of green construction and sustainable development.

Deployment of Single-Unit Mobile Packaged Toilets

In addition to the overall relocation of public toilets, Zigong City has also deployed single-unit mobile packaged toilets in popular tourist areas. Specifically, eight such toilets have been installed at the shuttle stops for the lantern festival on Hui'nan Road and Dongyan Line. These toilets utilize advanced mechanical devices to automatically update plastic bags for feces encapsulation, effectively addressing the challenge of visitor restroom access.

Single-unit mobile packaged toilets offer numerous advantages. Firstly, they can be flexibly moved and quickly deployed and adjusted according to actual needs. Secondly, the use of mechanical devices for automatic plastic bag updates for feces encapsulation significantly improves hygiene levels and reduces the frequency and difficulty of manual cleaning. Additionally, these toilets have enhanced the sanitary environment in tourist areas and improved the overall tourist experience.
