Portable Toilets at Zhongshan Bridge

Admin September 21, 2026

To address the issue of tourists having difficulty finding toilets near Zhongshan Bridge, various measures have been taken and multiple accessible public toilets have been set up.

Construction of Portable Toilets

The management committee of the Yellow River Scenic Area has initiated a project to build portable toilets. A new portable toilet with "8 toilet stalls + a third toilet for the disabled + a urinal area + a management room" has been constructed on the east side of the hydrological station, and an additional 2-stall portable toilet has been added on the east side of Zhongshan Bridge North Square. Construction workers began processing and manufacturing on July 25th, aiming to put them into use before August 12th. These newly built portable toilets will effectively increase the number of toilet stalls and meet the needs of tourists.

Emergency Toilets and Mobile Bus Toilets

Emergency toilets have been installed and are open to citizens and tourists on the east side of the hydrological station at Zhongshan Bridge South Square and on the east side of the North Square. Lanzhou's first mobile bus toilet has been put into use at Yunfeng Square. This mobile bus toilet has a total of 8 independent toilet stalls inside, all equipped with sensor-based flushing systems. Windows are fitted with curtains, providing strong privacy. It also has thoughtful facilities such as air conditioners, storage racks, and safety handrails. The independent sinks are spotless, and the provision of hand soap and paper towels is very user-friendly, offering tourists a comfortable toilet environment.

Distribution of Public Toilets

Available public toilets on the south side of Zhongshan Bridge include: 1 mobile bus toilet at Yunfeng Square; 1 at the cultural and tourism post 200 meters west of Zhongshan Bridge South Square; 1 at Baimalang, 700 meters west; 1 at the "Lanhuan Hydrological Station", 300 meters east; a 5-stall toilet at Zhongshan Hotel under the "Public Toilet Alliance"; a 3-stall toilet at the Hydrological Station's Guanguan Tea House; and a 4-stall single emergency mobile toilet on the east side of the Hydrological Station. On the north side of Zhongshan Bridge, available public toilets include: 2 portable toilets on the east side of Zhongshan Bridge North Square; 1 portable toilet on the west side; 1 water closet at the overpass on the west side of Baita Mountain Park; a 5-stall toilet at Yegu Yiyun under the "Public Toilet Alliance"; and a 2-stall single emergency mobile toilet on the east side of Zhongshan Bridge North Square. These toilets are distributed on both the north and south sides of Zhongshan Bridge, making it convenient for tourists to quickly find a toilet location at different positions.
