Leakage of Zhongjian Container Houses

Admin September 17, 2026

For leakage in Zhongjian container houses, first identify the cause, then address it specifically, and take preventive measures simultaneously.

Causes of Leakage

  • Fastener Issues: Treading on the roof during installation and use can loosen fasteners, or aging of the fastener waterproof gaskets can lead to leakage at the fastener locations.
  • Material and Construction Issues: The use of substandard waterproof materials during the construction of mobile houses, or improper waterproofing treatment, can result in leakage as the house ages.
  • Hole Opening and Deformation Issues: When holes are opened in the panels of mobile houses for the installation of fans, etc., if the waterproofing treatment of the surrounding cracks is inadequate, or if the panels deform due to external conditions or loads, the cracks at the joints expand, damaging the original waterproofing and causing leakage.
  • Gutter Issues: If the gutters of mobile houses have no horizontal slope and the outlet design is unreasonable, rainwater may accumulate and be unable to drain during heavy rain. Additionally, if the gutter corrosion protection is inadequate during construction, rust erosion or debris blockage at the outlet can cause leakage or backflow.

Treatment Methods

  • Use of Waterproof Coatings: Select professional waterproof coatings such as polyurethane or epoxy resin and apply them evenly to the leakage areas, paying special attention to covering cracks or aging parts. This method is suitable for small cracks or local repairs, as well as for metal material aging or large-area leakage, but requires regular maintenance.
  • Use of Waterproof Membranes: After cleaning the base layer, lay modified asphalt membranes, fix them with adhesive, and then conduct a water storage test. This method is suitable for large-area leakage or structural joints and offers good durability.
  • Reinforcement with Covering Materials: Install steel structure keels, cover with color steel plates and other materials, and combine with glue application for waterproofing and heat insulation. This method is suitable for overall roof renovation.
  • Use of Sealant or Glass Glue: For minor local leakage, such as small cracks at welding points, clean the leakage area and apply sealant or glass glue evenly. Ensure the operating environment is dry and ventilated and wear protective gear. This is a short-term solution and may require reapplication.
  • Welding Repair: For metal containers with small leakage points, use argon arc welding for repair to avoid deformation of the container caused by electric welding.

Auxiliary Measures and Prevention

  • Use activated carbon to absorb internal moisture, preventing condensation and mold growth; regularly inspect the drainage system and clear accumulated water and debris.
  • Regularly inspect the sealing performance of the container board house, pay attention to the aging of sealing strips and replace them in a timely manner; apply waterproof coatings on the roof and walls; install a drainage system and ensure it is unobstructed; regularly inspect cracks and joints and repair them promptly. If the leakage problem is severe or persistent, it is advisable to seek the help of professional maintenance personnel.
