By 2025, the city plans to build or renovate more than 19,185 rural sanitary household toilets, aiming to achieve a coverage rate of approximately 90% for rural sanitary household toilets. Among them, the coverage rate requirements are higher in the "Three Lakes" basin (Jiangchuan District, Chengjiang City, and Tonghai County), which needs to reach around 95% by the end of 2022. For public toilets, in larger natural villages with more than 100 permanent households and natural villages in the "Three Lakes" basin, more than 935 sanitary public toilets are to be renovated or constructed to achieve full coverage with at least one sanitary public toilet. The "Three Lakes" basin is expected to complete this goal by the end of 2022. In accordance with relevant regulations, it cooperates in conducting spot checks and inspections for the acceptance of rural toilet renovations to ensure that newly built or renovated toilets meet standards. At the same time, a management system for rural public toilets in Yuxi City has been established to strengthen the management of rural toilets. Starting from daily maintenance and sanitation cleaning, efforts are made to continuously improve the rural living environment, enabling the renovated toilets to serve rural residents well for a long time.
