Yushu Prefecture Environmental Protection Mobile Toilets
Yushu Prefecture's environmental protection mobile toilets mainly include the Sanjiangyuan Plateau Ecological Toilets and rentable mobile toilets, and the local area has carried out investigations and rectifications of problematic toilets.
Sanjiangyuan Plateau Ecological Toilets: These are eco-friendly facilities built as part of Qinghai's 'Toilet Revolution' to protect the 'Water Tower of China'. They are primarily located in tourist attractions and along highways in Yushu Prefecture. These toilets integrate harmless treatment and resource recycling, using modern chemical and biological technologies to process waste. They employ solid-liquid separation methods, where treated urine can reach the standard of reclaimed water for recycling or making water-soluble fertilizers, while feces are converted into organic fertilizers through drying and fermentation with the addition of microbial agents. Additionally, they are equipped with deodorization systems to ensure fresh air inside the toilets and generally adopt waterless or micro-water technologies, such as vacuum negative pressure and foam sealing, to adapt to the water scarcity and severe cold climate of the plateau. As of the release of relevant data, the local government has invested 4.1 million yuan in financial resources to build 25 new tourist ecological public toilets according to local conditions, each covering an area of about 78 square meters, mainly distributed in tourist attractions and along major transportation routes in Yushu City and counties such as Chengduo, Nangqian, Zaduo, and Qumalai.

Multiple merchants offer these services, providing convenience for units or individuals with temporary needs.
Investigation and Rectification of Problematic Toilets: On the evening of December 19, Yushu Prefecture held a meeting to arrange for a comprehensive investigation and rectification of problematic toilets, covering areas such as riverside and lakeside regions, rural and pastoral areas, urban communities, and tourist attractions. The aim is to establish a long-term mechanism for the management of various types of toilets and to formulate and issue the 'Yushu Prefecture Toilet Standardized Operation and Management Measures' for standardized and institutionalized management of toilets, thereby improving their overall quality and management level.
