Review of Yuanda Prefabricated Housing
Admin September 18, 2026
Yuanda prefabricated housing has advantages such as fast construction speed, advanced materials, and guaranteed quality, but it also faces issues like incomplete domestic certification, high costs, and trust challenges.

Advantages:
- Fast Construction Speed: The construction speed of Yuanda prefabricated housing is astonishing. For example, the "Home No.1" project saw an 11-story residential building constructed from scratch in just 28 hours and 45 minutes. In Abu Dhabi, UAE, a 16-story "Living Building" composed of 259 modular units was completed in only 96 hours, achieving an overseas assembly speed of three floors per day. This rapid construction capability significantly shortens the construction cycle and meets housing demands more quickly.
- Advanced Materials: Its core material is the independently developed "stainless steel core panel," which is ten times lighter than traditional concrete at the same strength level, with a claimed lifespan of a thousand years. It can also be disassembled and reassembled elsewhere. While it may deform under strong earthquakes, it will never collapse, providing strong safety guarantees for occupants.
- Guaranteed Quality: Produced on factory assembly lines, unaffected by weather conditions, with precision controlled to the millimeter level. Each room module completes its structure, walls, windows, electromechanical systems, interior decoration, and even bathroom tiles on the assembly line. It is then sealed according to the dimensions of a 40-foot container and transported to the construction site, where workers tighten bolts and connect pipelines, stacking them floor by floor, ensuring the quality and grade of the housing.
- Received Certain Recognition: In 2022, the "Living Building Garden No.1" project won first place in the residential category for projects over 2,500 square meters at the World Modular Building Annual Conference held in Texas, USA, indicating a certain degree of international recognition.
Controversies:
- Not Fully Certified Domestically: Yuanda's stainless steel core panel technology is currently mainly used in self-built projects or specific orders and has not yet passed comprehensive certification under domestic general building standards, which may affect its widespread promotion in the domestic market.
- High Costs: The cumulative R&D investment is about 8 billion yuan, and the cost per square meter is approximately twice that of ordinary steel structures. This "cost-insensitive" approach is注定 (zhùdìng, meaning 'doomed to') make large-scale replication difficult, limiting its market penetration.
- Facing Trust Issues: In the traditional construction industry, the promotion of prefabricated buildings has always faced a "trust gap." Some people question whether the joint connections in high-rise buildings will crack, whether the fire resistance of steel structures meets standards, and whether there is data to support long-term durability.
