Yangzhou Shopping Mall Portable Toilets
Portable toilets in Yangzhou shopping malls are mainly used in holiday promotional activities and some public toilet quality improvement projects, with functional designs focusing on enhancing user experience.

In the operation of shopping malls in Yangzhou, the deployment of portable toilets is closely related to holiday crowd management. During holiday promotional events, core areas such as shopping mall atriums experience a 3-5 fold increase in foot traffic compared to regular days due to theme promotions and brand exhibitions. To prevent customer dissatisfaction caused by long queues for fixed restrooms, shopping malls temporarily install portable toilets, typically featuring modular designs. Each unit occupies about 2-3 square meters and can be quickly assembled in open areas such as around the atrium or near elevators. Although these portable toilets are temporary facilities, they are equipped with basic amenities including squat/seat toilets, sinks, hand-drying equipment, and basic ventilation systems. Some high-end shopping malls also provide smart sensor faucets, accessibility handrails, and other facilities to align with the mall's overall service standards.
In Yangzhou's public toilet quality improvement projects, some public toilets are directly benchmarked against shopping mall restroom standards. Taking the 146 public toilet upgrades completed in Jiangdu District in September 2026 as an example, the hardware configurations of 10 key public toilets (such as the Longcheng Road Eco-Smart Public Toilet) have reached the level of shopping mall restrooms. These public toilets feature slip-resistant tiles or epoxy flooring with a reflective finish; ventilation systems integrate fresh air exchange and fragrance functions to ensure odor-free air; the washing areas are equipped with automatic sensor soap dispensers, paper towel boxes, and trash bins, with some public toilets also adding baby care stations and children's facilities. From a user experience perspective, their cleanliness, facility completeness, and environmental comfort are on par with shopping mall restrooms, and they even achieve higher environmental standards through eco-designs such as rainwater harvesting systems and solar lighting.
It should be noted that the application scenarios of portable toilets in Yangzhou shopping malls have阶段性 (phased) characteristics: temporary portable toilets are only used during holidays or large-scale events and are removed after the events conclude; whereas public toilet quality improvement projects are long-term initiatives. The upgraded public toilets will continue to serve the public as urban infrastructure. Although their design standards reference shopping mall restrooms, they place greater emphasis on durability and maintenance convenience.
