Yan'an Public Mobile Toilets
Yan'an has established a system for public mobile toilets that covers multiple scenarios, features refined management, and relies on local supply. Details are as follows:

I. Differentiated Layout of Public Toilets Around Schools Yan'an adopts a differentiated strategy for public toilet allocation based on the environmental characteristics around different schools. Yan'an Middle School has narrow green belts and sidewalks, making it impossible to directly install mobile toilets. However, the demand is met by optimizing existing resources: there is one fixed public toilet in Yanyuan Lane, about 500 meters from the school, which can satisfy the basic needs of teachers, students, and nearby residents. New District No.1 Middle School has more abundant public toilet resources, with one fixed public toilet 300 meters to the west (northwest corner of No.1 Primary School) and another 100 meters to the east (inside the Dijian Hotel). In addition, the New District Management Committee plans to install temporary mobile toilets in the area around the sanitation restroom in the southwest corner of the school. The plan is currently being refined and will further shorten the distance to toilets in the future.
II. Diversified Rental Services for Mobile Toilets Yan'an offers scenario-based mobile toilet rental services that cover the needs of large-scale events and temporary projects. The service types include waterless toilets (relying on biodegradation technology, requiring no flushing) and ecological toilets (using a recycling system to reduce water consumption), suitable for scenarios such as marathons, concerts, construction sites, and music festivals. These services are characterized by flexibility and can be quickly deployed according to the scale and duration of the event, effectively alleviating the toilet pressure caused by a short-term surge in foot traffic.
III. Refined Management Mechanism Since November 2017, Baota District has implemented a "market-oriented operation, contract-based management" model, incorporating public toilets into the "Smart Public Toilet Map" system to digitize functions such as location query and usage evaluation. At the same time, a four-level toilet supervisor system (clarifying the responsibilities at each level) and a "seven-step operation method" (standardizing the cleaning process) have been established, and the "five-clean and two-free" standard (clean floors, walls, doors and windows, toilet bowls, and surroundings, with no odors or debris) is enforced, improving the quality of public toilet services through standardized management.
IV. Local Production and Supply Guarantee Local manufacturers in Yan'an have the capacity to produce mobile toilets, with a variety of materials (such as metal, plastic, and composite materials) available. Customized designs can be made to adapt to different scenarios such as scenic spots and parks. Local supply shortens the logistics cycle, reduces maintenance costs, and provides support for the rapid renewal and emergency allocation of public toilet facilities.
