Xuchang Prefabricated Houses

Admin September 17, 2026

The prefabricated housing industry in Xuchang includes three main types: prefabricated villas, corrugated container houses, and cement prefabricated houses.

Prefabricated Villas: As an important industrial base in the Central Plains Economic Zone, Xuchang has promoted the innovative development of the prefabricated villa industry. These villas use light steel or steel frame structures, combined with thermal insulation composite wall panels, reducing construction time by more than 50% compared to traditional brick-and-mortar structures. Component connections utilize bolts or snap-fit techniques, with errors controlled to the millimeter level, effectively enhancing building airtightness and seismic performance. The construction process involves no wet operations, reducing construction waste and dust pollution. Xuchang's mobile villa factories rely on mature supply chains, establishing standardized production lines equipped with advanced machinery, enabling digital control of key processes. Production strictly adheres to standards, with multiple quality checkpoints implemented, promoting the concept of 'whole building lifecycle management'. The products integrate multiple innovative techniques, with wind resistance up to Level 12 and seismic resistance up to Intensity 8, and feature migration and reassembly capabilities, with component reuse rates exceeding 85%. They are widely used in rural self-built homes, scenic resort houses, temporary office spaces, and other scenarios.

Corrugated Container Houses: Xuchang's logistics hub advantages have spurred the customization industry for corrugated container houses. These houses use profiled steel sheets as the enclosure structure, combined with light steel keel frames, forming prefabricated, detachable container housing units, with a mature customization chain already established. They primarily serve construction project temporary buildings, municipal facility support, wilderness operation camps, and short-term storage spaces, meeting diverse functions such as dormitories, offices, and restrooms. In customization mode, adjustments can be made to container size, door and window positions, partition layouts, and plumbing and electrical pre-installation plans based on usage scenarios, enabling rapid installation and reuse. Technically, they use galvanized steel sheets or color-coated steel sheets rolled into shape, with container frames typically welded from hot-dip galvanized square tubes, connected by bolts at nodes, and filled with materials such as rock wool or polyurethane foam. Excellent factories in Xuchang are equipped with advanced machinery, enabling integrated operations for sheet cutting, forming, and assembly, with a focus on quality control in the production process. Some factories have R&D teams capable of optimizing structural nodes for special requirements and providing after-sales maintenance.

Cement Prefabricated Houses: These have emerged in rural areas of Henan, where various parts of the house, such as walls, roofs, and floors, are prefabricated in factories and then transported to the site for assembly. Construction speed is extremely fast, with a house being hoisted in just four hours and a building completed within two days. Prices are relatively affordable, with costs around 300 yuan per square meter, significantly cheaper than traditional construction methods. Using reinforced concrete structures, they are durable with a warranty period of up to 70 years.
