Prefabricated Houses for Xinjiang Border Defense Forces
The prefabricated houses used by the Xinjiang border defense forces are new-type detachable self-powered insulated barracks, featuring easy installation, self-sufficiency in energy, and a long design life, along with temporary housing for family members to meet living needs.

I. Easy Installation
The new barracks adopt a factory-prefabricated production model, with all components designed to be lightweight and capable of being assembled by hand without mechanical assistance. Officers and soldiers can flexibly combine them into camps of different sizes, such as squads, platoons, companies, and brigades, according to actual needs, adapting to complex terrains like plateaus and mountains. This modular design significantly shortens the construction period and enhances the rapid deployment capability of the troops.
II. Self-Sufficiency in Energy and Insulation Performance
The barracks integrate energy-saving building technology with photovoltaic power generation systems, ensuring indoor temperatures remain above 15℃ in extreme environments (e.g., outdoor temperatures of -40℃ and altitudes above 5,000 meters). Through the organic combination of solar panels and roofing materials, they can meet the electricity and hot water supply needs of the camp, achieving self-sufficiency in energy. Additionally, considering the environmental characteristics of the Tibetan border areas, the roofs are reinforced, and the wall panels are made of thickened color steel and glass fiber sandwich panels, significantly improving insulation, moisture resistance, and disaster prevention capabilities.
III. Durability and Environmental Friendliness
Despite their assembled structure, the barracks exhibit excellent earthquake and wind resistance, with a design life far exceeding that of traditional buildings. Most of the building materials are recyclable, and only "parts" need to be disassembled and reassembled during maintenance or renovation, reducing maintenance costs. The high-tech camouflage net covering the exterior also provides stealth functionality, effectively coping with complex battlefield environments.
IV. Family Support Facilities
The Changji Military Sub-district in Xinjiang has planned a batch of apartment buildings as temporary housing for family members on the basis of renovating existing reception rooms and combining them with newly built barracks. The rooms are equipped with furniture and appliances such as sofas, tables and chairs, LCD TVs, air conditioners, and water dispensers, enabling "move-in ready" accommodation. This significantly improves the visiting conditions for family members of border defense officers and soldiers, reflecting humanistic care and an enhancement in logistical support capabilities.
These prefabricated houses effectively solve the accommodation, energy, and living support challenges faced by border defense forces in extreme environments through technological innovation and functional integration, providing crucial support for national defense construction.
