Xiaomi Mobile Monitoring Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

The device in Xiaomi's ecosystem for mobile monitoring in toilet scenarios is primarily the Ziqing Presence Sensor Lite. It is the first native presence sensor integrated into the Mi Home ecosystem, effectively solving the issue of false triggering of smart devices in static toilet scenarios.

Core Functions and Features:

  1. Technical Principle: The Ziqing Presence Sensor Lite employs millimeter-wave radar and biosensor technology, breaking through the limitations of traditional infrared sensors. Millimeter-wave radar can penetrate non-metallic obstacles, while the biosensor can recognize human micro-movement signals. The combination of these two technologies enables static presence detection. For example, when a user remains stationary while using the toilet or taking a shower, the sensor can still continuously detect human presence, preventing sudden light extinguishment.
  2. Monitoring Range: The device supports a maximum monitoring distance of 8 meters, with a static straight-line distance of 4 meters and a coverage radius of 2 meters, meeting the spatial needs of ordinary household toilets. Its monitoring angles are 120° horizontally and 60° vertically, allowing for precise capture of human movement trajectories.
  3. Installation Methods: It offers three installation modes: wall-mounted, side-mounted, and ceiling-mounted (ceiling-mounted requires a separately purchased bracket), allowing users to choose flexibly based on the toilet layout. However, it should be noted that the device requires an external 5V/1A power supply (Type-C interface), and exposed wiring may affect aesthetics. It is recommended to plan the power supply location in advance.
  4. Smart Integration: It needs to be used in conjunction with a Mi Home Mesh gateway (such as the Xiaomi Central Gateway) and can be integrated with smart lighting fixtures, humidifiers, exhaust fans, and other devices. For example, when the sensor detects human presence, it automatically turns on the lights; when it detects no one for a set period, it turns off the lights and activates the exhaust fan for ventilation.
  5. Price and Purchase: The device is priced at 149 yuan and can be purchased through the official Mi Home mini-program or offline stores, offering better cost-effectiveness compared to similar sensors that support static monitoring.

Applicable Scenarios: The Ziqing Presence Sensor Lite is primarily designed for static presence scenarios such as toilets and kitchens. Traditional infrared sensors often fail to recognize stationary humans, leading to issues like lights turning off while using the toilet or devices shutting down while chopping vegetables in the kitchen. This device effectively addresses this pain point through millimeter-wave radar technology, enhancing the practicality and user experience of smart homes.
