Xiangju Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

Xiangju container house is a characteristic accommodation space constructed using customized containers as basic units through modular combination methods. It integrates industrial-style design with natural landscapes, offering a multifunctional cultural tourism experience.

1. Structural Design and Construction Features

Xiangju container house utilizes 46 specially customized containers, built in a non-traditional 'interlocking' manner amidst scenic landscapes, breaking free from the limitations of a single container. Its structural classifications include custom fixed container modules (factory-produced with non-standard corner fittings arrangements) and integral welded construction techniques (dry container-type structures), ensuring spatial stability. In terms of combination forms, horizontal container assembly creates public areas such as the民宿 (homestay) lobby and conference rooms, while vertical container stacking constructs multi-story accommodation units. Additionally, offset cantilever designs are employed to create popular viewing platforms, balancing functionality and aesthetics.

2. Functional Configuration and Scene Experience

The house is internally equipped with central water air conditioning, whole-house water-based floor heating, branded bathroom fixtures, and bedding, offering 26 suites including high-altitude river-view rooms and loft mountain-view family rooms to meet diverse accommodation needs. Public areas encompass an infinity pool, mountain-view café, rooftop viewing platform, meditation book bar, bar, and multifunctional conference room, along with family-friendly facilities such as a children's entertainment area, handicraft DIY activity room, and pottery painting workshop. Furthermore, the homestay integrates surrounding natural landscapes to develop unique activities like stream tracing, research studies, herb dyeing, and tea picking, forming a composite experience scene of 'accommodation + culture + entertainment'.

3. Safety Regulations and Technical Standards

Xiangju container house strictly adheres to the Technical Regulations for Modular Combined Houses, with a maximum of ≤6 floors, a height of ≤24 meters, seismic fortification intensity of ≤8 degrees, and a design service life of up to 50 years. Structurally, it employs a pure steel frame load-bearing system, with corner fittings as the sole stacking force transmission points. The container body steel selects welded weathering steel (GB/T 4171) to ensure durability. For fire protection, the enclosure is filled with Class A rock wool/glass wool, with a fire resistance limit of ≥0.5 hours, and is equipped with smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and firefighting equipment, meeting public building fire safety requirements.

4. Cultural Integration and Regional Characteristics

The project incorporates Hui-style cultural elements into architectural decoration and activity experiences, utilizing landscape resources such as ancient trees, bridges, and tea gardens, combined with intangible cultural heritage techniques like paper cutting and brick carving, to create immersive cultural scenes. Through the collision design of containers and mountain-water courtyards, it preserves the modernity of industrial style while presenting the poetic charm of southern Anhui's countryside, forming a unique 'wild luxury' style.
