Mobile Toilets at Xi'an Morning Market
The mobile toilets along Antong Street in the Taiyi Road Subdistrict of Xi'an City are important public facilities established to address the issue of 'difficulty in finding toilets' at the morning market.

I. Background of Establishment
Along Antong Street in the Taiyi Road Subdistrict of Xi'an City, especially at the Tai'an Street morning market, there has long been a lack of public toilets, resulting in a 'difficulty in finding toilets' for pedestrians and merchants. To improve this situation, the Party Working Committee of the Taiyi Road Subdistrict has listed the 'toilet issue' as a key livelihood project. Through in-depth research by Party members and cadres on the front lines and scientific site selection, the first mobile toilet was installed at the intersection of Antong Street and Tai'an Street, precisely meeting the toilet needs of the morning market crowd.
II. Facility Configuration and Functional Characteristics
- Complete Basic Functions: The interior of the mobile toilet is clean and tidy. Although the space is limited, facilities such as sinks, exhaust fans, and mirrors are fully equipped to meet basic usage needs.
- Intelligent Indicators: An LED display is installed at the entrance of the toilet, showing 'Occupied' or 'Vacant' in real-time to prevent users from entering by mistake and improve usage efficiency.
- Barrier-Free Design: The toilet is equipped with a disabled room, barrier-free access, and specialized facilities to provide convenience for the elderly and disabled with mobility issues, reflecting humanistic care.
III. Service Coverage and Expansion
To further expand the service scope, the second mobile toilet was located north of the gate of Shaanxi Third Construction Company on Antong Street, covering merchants on Jiandong Street and the surrounding elderly population. The commissioning of these two toilets has significantly improved the street environment, reduced instances of urinating and defecating in public, enhanced the quality of life for residents, and increased the accessibility of livelihood services.
IV. Social Benefits
The establishment of mobile toilets has not only addressed the pain point of 'difficulty in finding toilets' at the morning market but also, through scientific site selection and humanized design, has become a model for urban public services. Their clean and tidy environment and intelligent management have improved residents' satisfaction with public facilities, provided replicable solutions for other areas, and contributed to the enhancement of urban civilization and the warmth of people's livelihood.
