In the rural toilet renovation work in Lantian County, the initiative has mobilized the autonomy of the masses, stimulated the internal motivation of rural residents to improve the environment, and guided villagers to carry out the work in accordance with policies and local conditions. By the end of 2017, Shaanxi Province had a total of 2,064,600 hygienic toilets meeting national standards, with a hygienic toilet coverage rate of 29.24%. It is expected that the coverage rate of hygienic toilets will reach 45% in 2018. The fertilizer produced through the anaerobic fermentation in hygienic toilets can kill pests and bacteria and increase soil fertility, achieving resource recycling.
