Xia Potou Cement Prefabricated House
Admin September 18, 2026
Xia Potou cement prefabricated houses generally refer to houses whose components are processed and manufactured in a factory in advance and then transported to the construction site for assembly and installation. They have advantages such as low cost and fast construction, but also have disadvantages such as safety hazards and poor sound insulation.

Advantages
- Low cost and efficient construction: Cement prefabricated houses adopt a factory-based production and modular assembly model, resulting in relatively low costs. Taking a 120㎡ self-built rural house as an example, the cost of a traditional brick-and-concrete structure is approximately 180,000 - 220,000 yuan (including labor), while the cost of the main modules of a cement house is only 120,000 - 150,000 yuan. With interior and exterior decoration, the total cost can be controlled within 200,000 yuan, representing a 30% reduction in overall cost. The construction process is simple, and the construction period is significantly shortened. A single 30㎡ module can be prefabricated in the factory in just 7 days. After being transported to the site, with the cooperation of a crane by 3 workers, a single module can be installed in 4 hours, and the overall construction of a 100㎡ house takes only 2 days.
- Green and environmentally friendly: During the construction of cement prefabricated houses, construction waste is reduced by 90%. Environmentally friendly concrete and water-based paints are used as materials. The formaldehyde emission is ≤0.05mg/m³, which is much lower than the national standard (0.1mg/m³). It is friendly to the environment and ensures healthy living.
Disadvantages
- High safety hazards: Cement prefabricated houses have serious safety hazards. Even a minor earthquake can cause the house to collapse. The quality of prefabricated cement panels on the market varies greatly, with a large proportion of inferior products. They have a very short service life and may trigger house collapse accidents, resulting in casualties.
- Poor sound insulation and waterproofing: There are gaps at the edges of the panels, resulting in extremely poor sound insulation. Water leakage is a common problem. The walls have poor sound insulation and thermal insulation, and the walls are thin. In cold regions, separate thermal insulation treatment is required.
- Limited space layout: The personalization of space layout is limited. The grout joints used for connection have high requirements for the construction team. The connection fixity is poor. Houses from low floors to the third floor or above the third floor are at risk. At the same time, assembly inevitably leads to gap cracking, and there are likely to be cracks at the joints with prefabricated panels.
