Wuxi Container House Cost
Admin September 15, 2026
The cost of container houses in Wuxi varies depending on the type, specifications, and whether they are rented or purchased, generally ranging from 180 yuan per month to tens of thousands of yuan per month.

I. Rental Costs
- Standard Container Houses: Taking a common 3×6-meter container house as an example, the rental price is usually 6 yuan per day, 180 yuan per month, and 2160 yuan per year. These container houses are suitable for scenarios such as housing construction workers and temporary offices.
- Customized or Special-Purpose Container Houses: If the container houses are used for special purposes such as shops or offices, or if custom sizes and configurations are required, the rent will increase accordingly. For example, a container shop at the Buynow subway station in downtown Wuxi has a rent of 800 yuan per month, with an area of 18 square meters, which translates to 1.48 yuan per square meter per day.
II. Purchase Costs
- Standard Container Houses: The price of purchasing a standard 3×6-meter container house is usually around 10,000 yuan. These container houses are generally equipped with basic living facilities and are suitable for long-term residence or as temporary housing.
- Customized or High-End Container Houses: If custom sizes, materials, or high-end facilities (such as air conditioners and independent bathrooms) are required, the purchase price will increase significantly. For example, the price of conventional container houses (with 50/75mm rock wool insulation) in North China ranges from 6000–8500 yuan per set to 8500–12000 yuan per set; while the thickened cold-resistant models at the Khorgos Port can cost as high as 8500–11000 yuan per set to 11000–15000 yuan per set.
III. Other Costs
- Transportation and Installation Costs: If the container houses need to be transported from other places to Wuxi or installed by a professional team, additional transportation and installation costs will be incurred.
- Maintenance and Upkeep Costs: Long-term use of container houses requires regular maintenance and upkeep to ensure their structural safety and functionality. These costs vary depending on the condition of the house and the frequency of use.
