Mobile Toilets in Wuhan Fangcang Hospitals

Admin October 02, 2026

Wuhan Fangcang hospitals have employed various types of mobile toilets to meet the sanitary needs of patients and medical staff while ensuring hygiene and safety.

I. Configuration of Mobile Toilets
Different Fangcang hospitals have been equipped with varying numbers of mobile toilets based on their scale and actual requirements. For instance, the Hubei Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Fangcang utilized 51 mobile public toilets, which were assembled by Ningbo Beilun Senrui Mould Co., Ltd. and transported to Wuhan. The first batch of 17 units was urgently delivered and put into use on the evening of the 15th, effectively alleviating the initial shortage of sanitary facilities in the Fangcang hospital. Jianghan Fangcang, on the other hand, set up 120 mobile public toilets while retaining two fixed public toilets inside the cabin, creating a combined mobile and fixed sanitation system that further enhanced the hospital's capacity.

II. Usage and Management of Mobile Toilets
In the Fangcang hospital converted from the Hongshan Gymnasium, patients primarily used mobile restrooms, with the excreta undergoing centralized disinfection to prevent virus transmission and environmental pollution. This measure reflects the rigorous attitude of Fangcang hospitals towards epidemic prevention and their high regard for public health safety. The mobile public toilets in Jianghan Fangcang were managed by sanitation workers responsible for cleaning and disinfecting them, ensuring their hygiene and safety. These workers regularly conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection of the mobile public toilets, promptly removing excreta, and providing a clean and tidy restroom environment for patients and medical staff.

III. Significance and Role of Mobile Toilets
Mobile toilets have played a crucial role in the construction and operation of Wuhan Fangcang hospitals. They have not only addressed the shortage of sanitary facilities in the hospitals but also effectively prevented virus transmission and environmental pollution through measures such as centralized disinfection. Moreover, the flexibility and mobility of mobile toilets have enabled Fangcang hospitals to quickly adjust the quantity and location of sanitary facilities according to actual needs, improving the hospitals' operational efficiency and response capabilities.
