Admin October 05, 2026

Wugou Town has achieved remarkable results in the renovation of mobile toilets (dry latrines), promoting the popularization of sanitary toilets through systematic measures and enhancing the quality of rural living environments.

I. Renovation Scale and Coverage

As of now, the dry latrine renovation in Wugou Town has covered over 13,000 households, with a sanitary toilet popularity rate of 95%, involving 21 villages across the town, and a cumulative total of 5,266 households have been renovated. The renovation scope is extensive, covering the majority of administrative villages and forming a large-scale promotion pattern.

II. Core Work Measures

  1. Objectives and Principles

    • Adhere to the concept of “small toilets, big civilization; small toilets, big livelihoods,” integrating dry latrine renovation with livelihood improvement and civilization construction.
    • Follow the principles of people-orientation, government-led, and collaborative promotion, addressing issues through a cancellation system to ensure accountability.
  2. Implementation Steps

    • Problem Identification: Hold town-wide集中 (centralized)排查 (investigation and rectification) meetings to deploy tasks; each village mobilizes villagers through publicity to form a “government-village committee-villager” linkage mechanism.
    • Organization and Implementation: Construction units strictly adhere to standards during construction, while the town party committee and government establish supervision teams for regular inspections to ensure renovation quality.
    • Inspection and Acceptance: After renovation completion, conduct household inspections and establish acceptance records; establish a dry latrine renovation service center to provide long-term maintenance services.
  3. Organizational Guarantees

    • Establish a Centralized Renovation Leading Group for Dry Latrines to strengthen overall coordination; each village adjusts plans based on群众 (the people's) needs to enhance participation enthusiasm.

III. Supporting Guarantee Mechanisms

  • Policy Propaganda: Enhance villagers' awareness of renovation policies through special scheduling meetings and household visits.
  • Supervision and Guidance: Establish investigation teams to conduct regular supervision, ensuring issues are rectified in place.
  • Balancing Quality and Quantity: Focus on “simultaneous improvement in quantity and quality” during renovation, promoting the upgrade of rural areas from “environmental beauty” to “living beauty” and “connotative beauty”.

IV. Renovation Results

Through systematic promotion, the dry latrine renovation in Wugou Town has significantly improved rural sanitary conditions, reduced the risk of disease transmission, enhanced the quality of life for the people, and laid an environmental foundation for rural revitalization.
