Which Type of Mobile Toilet is Recommended for Workers
Admin October 02, 2026
It is recommended to prioritize container-type mobile toilets and combine them with foam-sealing or water-flush types according to the conditions of the construction site, while also meeting requirements for materials, configurations, and costs. Specific recommendations are as follows:

1. Type selection should be based on construction site conditions
- Container-type mobile toilets: These feature a steel structure frame with metal carved panels or color-coated steel plate walls, offering strong impact resistance and corrosion resistance. They are suitable for long-term use or harsh environments (such as in Inner Mongolia). Their row-connected design saves space, and the lifting rings facilitate relocation, making them ideal for construction sites with long durations or multiple relocations.
- Foam-sealing type: If water is scarce at the construction site or it is prone to freezing in winter, this type of toilet uses foaming liquid to cover excrement, achieving water conservation and odor control. The sewage discharge is reduced by about 90% compared to traditional toilets, making it suitable for water-deficient areas.
- Water-flush type: If there is temporary water supply or regular water replenishment at the construction site, the water-flush type with a built-in high-level water tank is more in line with workers' usage habits and offers higher cleanliness.
Tips to avoid pitfalls: Microbial degradation types are costly and susceptible to interference from foreign objects, while waterless packing types have plastic films that are easily damaged. Neither is recommended.
2. Materials should meet durability requirements
- Frame: High-strength steel (such as I-beams or square steel welded) must be used to ensure structural stability.
- Exterior walls: Metal carved panels or stainless steel are recommended for their strong corrosion resistance, suitable for windy or humid environments (such as the need for waterproof exterior walls in Inner Mongolia).
- Floor: Anti-slip tiles or PVC anti-slip layers must be laid to prevent workers from slipping.
3. Configurations should be planned scientifically according to the number of people
- Number of toilet stalls: Calculate based on the peak number of workers, with a general formula of 1 toilet stall per 50-70 people. The recommended ratio of male to female toilet stalls is 1:1.5.
- Size of toilet stalls: Each stall should be no less than 1.2m × 1.5m to ensure comfort.
- Optimization for long-term use: If the project duration exceeds one year, custom multi-stall designs can be made, and storage tanks or sewage systems can be installed to reduce maintenance frequency.
4. Cost plans should weigh the project duration
- Short-term projects (e.g., a few months' duration): Renting is recommended, as manufacturers usually include installation, cleaning, and sewage removal services, resulting in lower overall costs.
- Long-term projects: Purchasing is more cost-effective, as the daily cost decreases with longer usage time.
Regional reference: In Inner Mongolia, priority can be given to locally manufactured light gray practical models (dirt-resistant with multiple stalls) or high-end black-gray models (steel structure with waterproofing).
