Prefabricated Wall Panels for Wooden Houses
The commonly used prefabricated wall panels for wooden houses are wood-plastic composite wall panels, which are made by mixing renewable resources with polymer materials. They combine the characteristics of both wood and plastic and are a new type of wall material that replaces traditional wood.

Core Materials and Characteristics
Wood-plastic composite wall panels are made by compounding renewable resources (such as wood powder and bamboo powder) with polymer materials (such as polyethylene and polypropylene) through a high-temperature extrusion process. This material retains the natural texture and processing properties of wood while also having the water resistance, corrosion resistance, and insect resistance of plastic, effectively solving the problems of traditional wood being prone to decay and insect infestation. Its density is usually 0.6-1.0g/cm³, and its strength is close to that of hardwood, but it is lighter in weight, making it easier to transport and install.
Performance Advantages
- Fire Resistance: The fire endurance reaches 2.15 hours, and the combustion grade is Class B1 (fire-resistant material), meeting the requirements of building fire protection regulations and significantly reducing the risk of fire.
- Seismic Resistance: Through modular plug-in design, the wall structure has strong integrity and can meet the 8-degree seismic fortification standard, making it suitable for earthquake-prone areas.
- Environmental Protection: The proportion of renewable resources in the raw materials is high, and no harmful substances such as formaldehyde are released during the production process, meeting green building standards.
- Durability: It is resistant to ultraviolet rays and aging, with a service life of more than 25 years, far exceeding that of traditional wood.
Installation and Construction
The wall panels adopt a standardized modular design (such as a width of 600mm and a height of 3000mm) and can be quickly assembled through plug-in or bolt connections without wet operations or large machinery. The construction period is shortened by more than 50% compared to traditional brick-and-mortar structures. In addition, the wall panels can be pre-integrated with door and window openings, wire ducts, etc., further simplifying on-site procedures.
Application Scenarios
Wood-plastic composite wall panels are widely used in low-rise wooden houses, holiday villas, eco-friendly homestays, and other scenarios, especially in humid or insect-infested areas. Their appearance can simulate wood grain and support painting or veneer treatment to meet diverse aesthetic needs.
Other Types of Prefabricated Wall Panels
In addition to wood-plastic composite wall panels, there are also light steel keel composite wall panels, ALC panels (autoclaved aerated concrete panels), and other prefabricated wall materials on the market. However, these are mostly used in steel structure or concrete structure buildings and have a relatively weak direct correlation with wooden houses.
