Winter Heating Container House
Winter heating for container houses requires comprehensive handling from multiple aspects such as thermal insulation materials, structural design, door and window sealing, temperature control equipment, and safety measures.

1. Selection and Construction of Thermal Insulation Materials
The metal shell of container houses has a low specific heat capacity and fast heat transfer, necessitating the use of thermal insulation materials to block heat loss. Commonly used materials include polystyrene boards, polyurethane foam boards, and rock wool boards, which have low thermal conductivity and can effectively reduce heat transfer. During construction, thermal insulation layers should be added to the exterior wall surface or interior walls, such as hanging thermal insulation boards externally or attaching thermal insulation materials internally, to form a continuous thermal insulation barrier. For example, a cultural tourism project in Northeast China adopted a thickened thermal insulation layer and double-layer sealing and waterproofing techniques, significantly improving winter thermal insulation performance.
2. Optimization of Structural Sealing
Seams in containers are prone to air leakage, requiring special attention to the splicing parts. Use professional sealing materials to fill gaps, such as silicone sealant or polyurethane foam, ensuring no gaps at the connections between walls, roofs, and floors. Install sealing strips around doors and windows to prevent cold air infiltration. For example, a project in Northeast China completely solved the problem of air leakage and frost formation through double-layer sealing techniques.
3. Upgrading of Door and Window Systems
Choose double- or triple-glazed doors and windows, which have low thermal conductivity and superior thermal insulation performance compared to single-glazed windows. Window frame materials are recommended to be broken-bridge aluminum alloy or plastic-steel to further reduce thermal bridging effects. For example, temporary facilities for the Winter Olympics adopted new material doors and windows, maintaining stable performance even at -40°C.
4. Configuration of Active Temperature Control Equipment
Install air conditioners, graphene floor heating, electric heaters, or solar heating systems according to the usage scenario. For example, a plateau region adopted a multi-energy complementary system of "solar thermal + thermal storage tank + electric assistance" to achieve 24-hour constant temperature heating; a project in Northeast China reduced heat loss when opening doors through the use of air curtains at entrances.
5. Safety and Fire Protection Measures
If electric heating equipment is used, ensure that the circuit load matches to avoid overloading and causing fires. Prefer A-grade fire-resistant rock wool boards for filling materials and prohibit the use of flammable materials such as polystyrene. For example, a fire incident in a container house in Hangzhou serves as a warning to strictly adhere to fire protection regulations, equip with fire extinguishing equipment, and maintain safe spacing.
