How Wide is the Door of a Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

The width of the door of a container house varies depending on its type and purpose. Common standard widths are 800 millimeters (for single doors) and 1600 millimeters (for double doors), and wider sizes can be customized for special needs.

1. Width of Standard Container House Doors Container house doors are typically divided into two types: single doors and double doors. The standard width of a single door is 800 millimeters, with a height of 2000 millimeters, suitable for daily personnel access, balancing safety and convenience. Double doors provide a larger opening, with a standard width of 1600 millimeters and the same height of 2000 millimeters, primarily used for moving large items or equipment, commonly found in office or storage-type container houses. These dimensions are internationally standardized designs that can meet the needs of most scenarios.

2. Width of International Standard Container Front Doors For a 20-foot dry cargo container, the inner net opening width of its front door is 2168 millimeters (including frame), with a height of 2198 millimeters. This dimension is a stable parameter formed by considering engineering factors such as structural load-bearing, lifting clearance, and sealing edges, ensuring forklift passage and cargo loading and unloading efficiency. Although this dimension is mainly for shipping containers, in some modified spaces, such as temporary partitions or gas rooms, the door opening dimensions may be close to this range.

3. Width of Customized Container House Doors According to actual needs, the dimensions of container house doors can be flexibly adjusted. For example, some container houses for special purposes may require taller or wider doors to accommodate the entry and exit of large equipment or vehicles. The width of customized doors can be designed according to specific requirements, ranging from standard sizes to several meters or even wider. This flexibility allows container houses to adapt to a variety of usage scenarios.
