What Quota Should Be Applied for Prefabricated House Slabs

Admin September 19, 2026

The quota to be applied for prefabricated house slabs should be selected based on the type, purpose, and construction process of the slabs. Common scenarios are as follows:

  1. Brick Formwork Prefabricated Slabs
Primarily used in foundation caps, sump pits, and other locations, they can apply the relevant sub-items for prefabricated concrete components in the "Code for Valuation with Bill of Quantities of Construction Works" (GB50500-2013), such as prefabricated concrete slabs or prefabricated concrete partition slabs. Note that brick formwork prefabricated slabs are usually used as formwork. If the design specifies them as permanent structures, the quota sub-items should be adjusted according to their actual functions.

  2. Terrazzo Prefabricated Slabs
When used for floor decoration, they should apply the prefabricated terrazzo floor quota in decorative engineering. This quota already includes the costs for slab fabrication, transportation, and installation. However, it is necessary to verify whether the thickness, pattern complexity, and other parameters of the terrazzo prefabricated slabs in the quota match the design. If there are discrepancies, the material consumption should be adjusted.

  3. Concrete Trench Covers
For prefabricated covers used in drainage trenches and cable trenches, they should apply the prefabricated concrete trench cover quota in municipal engineering. The quota is usually classified according to the size and load rating of the covers. Before construction, it is necessary to confirm whether the load-bearing capacity of the designed covers matches the quota sub-items. Overweight or irregularly shaped covers require separate supplementary quotas to be prepared.

  4. Roof Prefabricated Reinforced Concrete Slabs
They can apply the large step tile sub-item in roofing engineering, but the large step tile material in the original sub-item should be deleted and replaced with prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs, and a prefabricated block fabrication sub-item should be added. If the prefabricated slabs contain reinforcement, a reinforcement fabrication and installation sub-item should also be included. When applying the quota, it is necessary to strictly verify design parameters such as roof slope and waterproof layer construction to ensure compliance with the applicable scope of the quota.

Precautions:

  • Parameter Matching: The thickness, strength grade, concrete grade, and other parameters of the prefabricated slabs must be exactly the same as those in the quota sub-items. Otherwise, the material consumption or labor and machinery coefficients should be adjusted according to the actual parameters.
  • Installation Costs: If the prefabricated slabs require on-site hoisting and assembly, additional installation labor costs and crane shift costs should be calculated. Some quotas already include basic installation costs, so careful differentiation is required.
  • Regional Differences: Different provinces may issue local supplementary quotas. It is recommended to refer to the latest local pricing documents first, such as special quotas for prefabricated components of prefabricated buildings in some regions.
  • Professional Consultation: For complex projects (such as irregularly shaped prefabricated slabs or special connection processes), it is advisable to commission a cost estimation agency to prepare supplementary quotas to avoid settlement disputes caused by incorrect quota application.
