What is the Installation Process for Prefabricated Houses?

Admin September 18, 2026

The installation process for prefabricated houses mainly includes six key steps: site preparation, foundation construction, component transportation, component installation, interior decoration, and commissioning and acceptance.

  1. Site Preparation The site needs to be flat and solid, with debris and obstacles cleared away. Precise measurement and marking should be carried out according to the design drawings to determine the position and dimensions of the house. If the geological conditions are poor (such as soft soil or slopes), special treatments are required, such as pouring concrete foundations or pile driving to enhance the load-bearing capacity. For example, in the construction of prefabricated houses in rural areas of South Korea, after the concrete sets, anchor plates need to be installed. Holes are drilled using a drilling machine and fixed with expansion screws, and then foundation piles weighing about 5 tons are installed.

  2. Foundation Construction The foundation form is selected according to the type of house, with concrete foundations being common. The construction process includes steel bar binding, formwork installation, and concrete pouring. After completion, quality inspections are required to ensure that indicators such as strength and flatness meet the design requirements. The foundation is the core of the house's stability, and improper handling may lead to later settlement or cracking.

  3. Component Transportation Prefabricated components are transported to the site using special transportation tools. During transportation, they need to be firmly fixed to avoid collision and deformation. Upon arrival, the quantity should be counted and the quality checked to ensure that components such as walls, floors, and beams are intact. The precise transportation and protection of components directly affect the installation efficiency.

  4. Component Installation Components are assembled one by one according to the design drawings and fixed by welding, bolting, or grouting. During installation, the dimensions and positions need to be monitored in real-time to ensure structural stability and tightness. For example, beams are quickly connected using mortise-and-tenon joints, stairs are installed by lifting, and after floor laying, the gaps need to be grouted.

  5. Interior Decoration After the completion of the main structure, decoration work such as wall painting, floor laying, and ceiling installation is carried out. At the same time, water and electricity lines are installed and equipment is commissioned to ensure the normal operation of functions such as lighting, water supply, and drainage. Decoration materials need to meet environmental protection standards to avoid later pollution.

  6. Commissioning and Acceptance The installation quality of the house is comprehensively inspected, including the tightness of connection parts, structural firmness, and functional integrity. The house can be delivered for use only after passing the acceptance. If problems are found, timely rectification is required, such as adjusting the window and door seals or repairing wall cracks.

The entire process must strictly follow construction specifications, with an emphasis on safety management and quality control to ensure the durability and safety of the house.
