What Can Be Installed in a Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

A container house can be equipped with water and electricity systems, doors and windows, sanitary facilities, thermal insulation layers, fireproof materials, solar systems, and supports the combination of multiple containers to form different functional spaces.

I. Basic Living Facilities

Container houses can integrate water and electricity systems during the factory prefabrication stage, including circuit wiring, water pipe laying, and interface reservation. Some products are directly equipped with independent sanitary facilities (such as toilets and shower equipment) to meet basic living needs. For example, the packing-box units from Shandong Jinda Lvjian are equipped with air conditioning interfaces and independent sanitary facilities, significantly improving living conditions. The door and window systems usually adopt standardized designs and support custom sizes to ensure lighting and ventilation effects.

II. Safety Protection Components

Container houses achieve multiple protections through composite panels and steel structural frames:

  • Fireproofing: The walls are filled with fireproof rock wool, and some special containers are constructed with fireproof materials to meet building fire protection regulations.
  • Thermal Insulation: The middle layer of color-steel composite panels is filled with rock wool or polystyrene, effectively blocking heat transfer and adapting to extreme climates.
  • Waterproof Sealing: Structural sealants and drainage designs are used to prevent leakage, and some products provide waterproof test reports.
  • Earthquake and Wind Resistance: The main body uses C-shaped steel or H-shaped steel for load-bearing, with an earthquake resistance of up to magnitude 8; standardized connectors and anchor bolt designs can withstand winds of magnitude 7 or above, such as the container houses in the Xinjiang Dashixia Dam project that withstood magnitude 7 winds.

III. Energy and Environmental Protection Systems

Container houses support the connection of solar systems. For example, a mini container home in the forest solves electricity problems through solar panels on the roof. In addition, the modular design allows 90% of the containers to be recycled, reducing the full life cycle cost by about 40% compared to traditional temporary buildings, in line with sustainable development concepts.

IV. Functional Expansion and Combination

Through horizontal splicing or multi-layer stacking, containers can be flexibly combined into office areas, dormitory areas, reception areas, etc. For example, the fast-assembly containers from Suzhou Zhongnan support on-demand splicing, allowing the completion of 10 standard dormitory setups within one day; the Qatar World Cup Fan Village project delivered 1000 accommodation modules within three months through the 'factory prefabrication + on-site fast assembly' model.
