Weichang County Prefabricated Concrete Houses
Weichang County has made progress in various aspects such as policy support, corporate projects, and the application of prefabricated concrete houses in disaster-stricken house reconstruction.
Policy Support and Promotion of Prefabricated Rural Houses: In 2022, Hebei Province took the lead nationwide in launching a pilot program for prefabricated rural houses. For farmers who built new prefabricated rural houses included in the pilot, a provincial subsidy of 10,000 yuan per household was uniformly provided. Weichang County combined the local farmers' willingness to build houses and their economic conditions to advance the prefabricated rural houses and rural dilapidated house renovation in a coordinated manner. Farmers who met the conditions for dilapidated house renovation and participated in the construction of prefabricated rural houses could enjoy both the subsidies for the prefabricated house pilot and dilapidated house renovation. This policy reduced the cost of farmers building prefabricated concrete houses, increased their enthusiasm for participating in the construction of prefabricated rural houses, and promoted the popularization of prefabricated concrete houses in rural areas.
Related Corporate Projects: Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County Huihuang Concrete Building Materials Manufacturing Co., Ltd. conducted a proposed approval announcement for the expansion project of non-load-bearing concrete hollow bricks from June 27, 2025, to July 3, 2025. The project purchased various equipment for making cement prefabricated products, etc., with raw materials being slag and waste residue. The implementation of this project will enhance the production capacity of prefabricated concrete-related products in Weichang County, provide more material options for the construction of prefabricated concrete houses, help meet the demand for prefabricated concrete house materials in the local and surrounding areas, and promote the development of the prefabricated concrete house industry.
Application in Disaster-Stricken House Reconstruction: This summer, some areas in Weichang suffered from floods. House reconstruction projects were carried out for the identified Class C and D dilapidated houses, and some of the reconstructed houses may involve prefabricated concrete-related technologies or materials. For example, Qi Yanwei, a villager from Xieliyong Village, Guangfayong Township, had his house identified as a Class D dilapidated house and moved into a safe and stable new house after reconstruction. The use of prefabricated concrete-related technologies or materials in the reconstruction of disaster-stricken houses can improve the construction speed and quality of the houses, enhance their earthquake and disaster resistance, and safeguard the lives and property of residents.
