Wang Chuqin Mobile Toilet Incident
The 'Wang Chuqin Mobile Toilet Incident' occurred in two different scenarios, one in the event preparation area and the other at the airport, both related to unexpected situations under special circumstances.

Scenario 1: Event Preparation Area in Las Vegas, USA
On July 5, 2025, during the preparation for a Grand Slam event in the United States, the local temperature soared above 40 degrees Celsius. The event organizers arranged only four portable toilets, leading to a shortage of toilet facilities for the athletes. While Wang Chuqin was walking in the preparation area, wearing a loose national team T-shirt and looking at his phone, he was suddenly rushed by Gao Jun, a Chinese-American coach from the US team, who pulled and pushed him into a mobile toilet by the roadside. Gao Jun's action was prompted by his observation that Wang Chuqin had been waiting for a long time and was showing signs of holding his urine, worrying about potential health damage. After Wang Chuqin emerged from the toilet, fastening his belt, Gao Jun patted his back and laughed, saying, 'I saved your life. If you had held it any longer, your bladder would have exploded.' Although this scene had a playful nature, it reflected the inadequacy of event logistical support under extreme weather conditions and the coach's concern for the athlete's health.
Scenario 2: Airport Paparazzi Blockade
In April 2025, Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha arrived in Chengdu for closed training. As soon as they exited the airport, they were surrounded by paparazzi, with cameras almost pressed against their noses. Wang Chuqin was forced to retreat to the restroom for refuge, while Sun Yingsha was escorted away by a female police officer. Three years earlier (2022), Wang Chuqin, who had just won the Youth Olympic Games championship, had squatted beside the same mobile toilet to sign autographs for fans. However, this time, due to the paparazzi blockade, he had to run and hide in the men's restroom, locking himself in a stall. This contrast highlighted the change in the athletes' situation from being 'adored' to being 'harassed,' and also reflected the serious infringement of paparazzi behavior on the athletes' private space.
Action by the State General Administration of Sport
In response to such privacy-invading behaviors, the State General Administration of Sport made a clear statement through official channels on August 14, 2026: behaviors such as secretly taking photos, acting as paparazzi, and selling photos or videos of athletes are suspected of violating laws and regulations. This measure aims to protect the legitimate rights and interests of athletes, maintain their normal training and living order, and also send a clear signal to society to 'respect the privacy of athletes.'
