Types of Mobile Toilets

Admin October 05, 2026

Mobile toilets come in a variety of types, which can be classified according to different criteria as follows:

Based on structural form, they can be divided into single-unit mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-unit mobile toilets are typically independent units with relatively simple structures, suitable for scenarios with limited space or high flexibility requirements. Composite-structure mobile toilets are composed of multiple units, offering richer functions to meet more complex usage needs.

Based on mobility method, they can be categorized into lifting and handling mobile toilets, powered and towed mobile toilets, and liftable mobile toilets. Lifting and handling mobile toilets require lifting equipment or manual handling for movement, suitable for places that need short-term and frequent relocation. Powered and towed mobile toilets can be moved by vehicle traction or their own power, providing high flexibility. Liftable mobile toilets are relatively large and require lifting equipment for movement, suitable for places that are fixed for a long time but may be relocated, such as construction sites and temporary parking lots.

Based on material, they can be divided into plastic toilets, color-steel toilets, fiberglass-reinforced plastic toilets, and tent-style toilets. Plastic toilets are lightweight and inexpensive, suitable for temporary use on construction sites. Color-steel toilets offer thermal and sound insulation and are commonly found in parks and streets. Fiberglass-reinforced plastic toilets are molded as a whole, with strong durability, suitable for disaster relief and emergency response. Tent-style toilets are easy to assemble and disassemble, suitable for temporary events.

Based on sewage treatment method, they can be classified into waterless packing toilets, traditional water-flush toilets, foam-sealing toilets, microbial degradation toilets, and water-flush and waterless suction, and circulating water-flush toilets. Waterless packing toilets are suitable for water-scarce environments such as desert camping. Traditional water-flush toilets require connection to sewage pipes and are suitable for places with sufficient water sources. Foam-sealing toilets save water and are environmentally friendly, commonly used in scenic spots. Microbial degradation toilets can convert feces into fertilizer, commonly found in ecological parks.

Based on usage scenarios and functional characteristics, they can be divided into simple toilets, eco-friendly toilets, luxury toilets, and special-function toilets. Simple toilets are suitable for short-term construction sites and small events. Eco-friendly toilets are suitable for places with high environmental protection requirements such as scenic spots and parks. Luxury toilets are suitable for high-end hotels and large exhibitions. Special-function toilets include barrier-free, mother-and-baby-specific, and shower-equipped toilets, meeting special needs.
