Truck Pulling Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

It is illegal for trucks to pull container houses. Here is a detailed analysis:

Legal Aspect

According to Article 16 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, no unit or individual may assemble motor vehicles or alter the registered structure, construction, or features of motor vehicles without authorization. A container house is a house with windows and doors that is transformed from a container as the base material. A truck pulling a container house is an act of altering the structure of the motor vehicle without authorization, which violates the above-mentioned legal provisions. For maintenance factories that illegally modify or assemble motor vehicles without authorization, relevant departments will order them to make corrections. If there are illegal gains, the illegal gains will be confiscated. If there are no illegal gains or the illegal gains are less than 10,000 yuan, a fine of not less than 20,000 yuan but not more than 50,000 yuan will be imposed, and parts and work tools will be confiscated. In serious cases, the business license will be revoked.

Vehicle Design and Usage Specification Aspect

  • Design Specifications for Container Transport Trucks: Container transport trucks are specially designed for transporting standard containers. Their core function is to achieve efficient and safe transportation of goods. They adopt an integrated structural design and have high-strength characteristics to meet the load-bearing requirements during transportation. At the same time, they support the operation mode of directly changing containers during the journey. Regulations require that container transport trucks must be of a "single-layer frame structure", while container houses are not standard transportation goods, and their installation and use do not comply with the design specifications of container transport trucks.
  • Cargo Loading Requirements: General cargo containers are prohibited from transporting goods that are likely to damage or corrode the container body without proper packaging, perishable goods (except where there is a separate agreement between the carrier and the shipper in specific seasons and regions), and goods prohibited by the state from being transported. The loading of container houses also does not comply with the relevant cargo loading specifications.
