Production of Portable Toilets for Travel

Admin September 29, 2026

Portable toilets for travel can be achieved through the modification of water storage containers, with common solutions including the modification of water storage barrels and the stacking modification of water storage tanks, both of which achieve mobility through modular design and are suitable for temporary venues.

Solution 1: Modification of Water Storage Barrels

  1. Basic Structure Construction
Split the water storage barrel in half along its central axis and install universal wheels at the four corners of the wooden board to enable mobility. Use wooden strips and self-tapping screws to raise the edges of the barrel, forming a stable frame. Cut a rectangular opening on the side and install sponge strips to construct a door frame structure, ensuring airtightness.
  2. Wall and Roof Installation
Embed transparent or semi-transparent plastic soft panels as wall materials, balancing privacy and lighting. Invert and fix the upper half of the water storage barrel on top of the frame to form a sloped roof, and apply waterproof paint to the surface to enhance durability and aesthetics.
  3. Drainage and Water Storage System
Drill a hole in the center of the bottom and install a drain pipe, connecting it to a sewage bucket to form a floor drain. Install a direct connector on the side and place a plastic bucket on top as a water storage device for collecting flushing water. Connect a showerhead through a three-way connector to enable a simple shower function.
  4. Sanitary Facility Configuration
Install a simple bathroom heater modified from a water pipe to provide basic lighting and heating functions. Fix the toilet and connect it to the water tank, ensuring a seamless connection between the drain pipe and the sewage bucket. All pipe connectors must be sealed with glue to prevent leakage.

Solution 2: Stacking Modification of Water Storage Tanks

  1. Mobile Chassis Construction
Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a plastic pallet to form a mobile base. Place the recycled water storage tank on the pallet, ensuring a stable center of gravity.
  2. Tank Cutting and Fixing
Use an angle grinder to cut the top of the water storage tank, creating an operating opening. Stack two tanks vertically and fix the outer frame with self-tapping screws to enhance structural strength.
  3. Functional Area Division
Cut a rectangular doorway 180 cm high and 50 cm wide on the side of the tank, drill a hole in the interior floor and install an elbow and water pipe to form a drainage channel. Fix the toilet and seal it with glue to prevent odor diffusion.
  4. Washing Module Installation
Fix a faucet and a stainless steel basin sink to the wall with clips, connect the toilet water tank to the showerhead to form a circulating water system. A small water storage tank can be installed on top to supplement flushing water.
  5. Door Production and Sealing
Cut a door panel from a wooden board, install hinges to enable opening and closing functions, and add a door handle for convenience. Stick sealing strips on the edges of the door frame to enhance odor isolation.

Precautions: Wear protective equipment during the modification process to avoid risks associated with tools such as angle grinders; material sizes can be adjusted according to actual needs, but structural stability must be ensured; the sewage bucket must be cleaned regularly to prevent blockages.
