Children Using Portable Toilets

Admin October 10, 2026

When children use portable toilets, there are multiple adaptation solutions available, which need to be reasonably configured based on the usage scenario and equipment type.

I. Dedicated Portable Toilets for Children
These devices are specifically designed for children, taking full account of their body size and usage habits. Size adaptability is a core feature, with the overall height being approximately 30%-40% lower than that of adult toilets. The height of the toilet seat is usually between 25-35 centimeters, facilitating independent sitting and standing for children. The edges are smoothly treated to avoid the risk of磕碰 (collision) from sharp corners. In terms of functional design, some products are equipped with adjustable footrests (with a height range of approximately 10-20 centimeters) or handrails (cylindrical structures with a diameter of about 3-5 centimeters), providing stable support for young children. Some high-end models also integrate splash guards and easy-to-clean coatings to reduce hygiene risks. Psychological adaptability is enhanced by using bright colors such as yellow and sky blue, or printing cartoon patterns (such as animals and vehicles), which can reduce children's resistance to unfamiliar equipment and improve their cooperation in usage.

II. Child-Friendly Facilities in Public Places
In renovated public toilets in cities like Lianyungang, family restrooms have become an important solution for children's toilet needs. Their standard facilities include:

  1. Child-sized squat toilets: These are approximately 40% smaller than adult models, with a depth controlled between 15-20 centimeters to prevent children from slipping in.
  2. Mini safety handrails: Installed on the walls or on both sides of the toilet, these are about 50-60 centimeters high and made of non-slip materials.
  3. Low-level sinks: These are about 40-50 centimeters high and come with adjustable faucets to prevent children from being unable to reach them or from water splashing everywhere.
  4. Auxiliary equipment: Such as child safety seats (which can be fixed to the wall and support a weight of about 15 kilograms) and foldable baby changing tables (which are about 70-80 centimeters high when unfolded), meeting the needs of children of different ages.

III. Portable Toilets for Children
Suitable for outdoor activities or temporary scenarios, their core advantages are lightweight and portability. The main materials are mostly high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or ABS plastic, weighing about 2-5 kilograms, and can be folded and stored in a backpack. In terms of hygiene design, some products use disposable inner bag systems (with a capacity of about 2-3 liters), which can be sealed and discarded after use; reusable models are equipped with removable inner liners that support washing and disinfection. In terms of structural stability, the bottom is usually designed with non-slip patterns or suction cups to prevent tipping over; some models also integrate folding brackets to enhance their load-bearing capacity during use (about 20-30 kilograms).
