Transforming Buses into Mobile Toilets
Transforming buses into mobile toilets is an innovative measure to effectively alleviate toilet issues in specific scenarios.

Transformation Method
The Jinci Scenic Area in Shanxi carried out such a transformation practice during the May Day holiday. Specifically, buses were set up outside the scenic area as temporary men's toilets. The words 'Mobile Public Toilet' were displayed in a scrolling manner on the buses, and signs indicating 'Men's Restroom' were posted to allow tourists to clearly identify them.
Specifications and Features
This mobile toilet transformed from a bus has clear specifications, measuring 15 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.6 meters in height. It adopts a modern design concept, with a stylish appearance that does not appear out of place as a transformed product and can blend well into the scenic area environment. Moreover, it is fully equipped with internal facilities, fully considering the needs of users, and is suitable for outdoor and scenic area scenarios. Its installation and use are also relatively convenient. After delivery and installation, it can be put into use once connected to water and electricity supplies, which is highly beneficial for scenic areas to cope with the toilet pressure brought by peak tourist flows in a short period of time.
Implementation Situation
Staff from the Jinci Museum stated that this was an attempt based on the summary of past experiences, starting from May 1st. Since it was a temporary measure to cope with the peak tourist flow during the May Day holiday, it might be removed after the holiday. However, if the effect is good, this measure may be continued during future holidays.
Implementation Effect
By implementing the optimization measure of transforming buses into mobile toilets, remarkable results have been achieved. During the peak tourist flow period, the average daily reception capacity of restrooms in this area increased significantly from about 3,000 person-times to 5,000 person-times, greatly alleviating the problem of difficult toilet access in the scenic area and improving the tourist experience. This practice provides useful references and insights for other scenic areas in ensuring toilet availability during peak tourist flows during holidays, demonstrating the feasibility and effectiveness of solving practical problems through the reasonable transformation of existing resources.
