Dimensions of Portable Toilets at Train Stations

Admin October 22, 2026

The dimensions of portable toilets at train stations vary depending on their type, function, and usage scenarios. Common standards are as follows:

I. Basic Portable Public Toilets

  1. Single-Occupancy (Standalone)

    • Minimum Dimensions: Approximately 1.2m (length) × 1.0m (width) × 2.2m (height), meeting basic toilet needs but with limited space, suitable only for short-term use.
    • Standard Dimensions: Approximately 1.5m (length) × 1.2m (width) × 2.3m (height), providing more room for movement and accommodating wheelchair aids to enhance comfort.
  2. Double-Occupancy (Two Toilet Stalls)

    • Standard Dimensions: Approximately 2.5m (length) × 1.5m (width) × 2.3m (height), featuring two separate stalls and a shared sink, ideal for high-traffic areas, balancing efficiency and convenience.

II. Functional Portable Public Toilets

  1. Accessible Toilets

    • Dimension Requirements: At least 2.0m (length) × 1.5m (width) × 2.4m (height), with a turning space for wheelchairs (≥1.5m × 1.5m) to ensure safety for disabled users.
  2. Baby/Family Toilets

    • Dimension Reference: Approximately 2.2m (length) × 1.8m (width) (some information incomplete), equipped with baby changing tables, child seats, etc., with space to accommodate both parents and children.

III. Transportation and Structural Constraints

  1. Transport Dimensions: The total width of the assembled toilet should not exceed the width of the vehicle chassis, the height of the box should not exceed 2.5 meters, and the total height during transportation should not exceed 4.0 meters to ensure transportation safety.
  2. Common Specifications: Width of 2.4 meters and height of 3.2 meters, or a combination of multiple toilet stalls and management rooms, with length adjusted according to functional requirements.

IV. Ergonomics and Usage Needs

  1. Standard Toilet Stalls: Each toilet stall should be 1.00 to 1.50 meters in length and 0.85 to 1.20 meters in width; urinal stalls (including urinals) should be 0.75 meters in depth and 0.70 meters in width.
  2. Procurement Case Standards: Each toilet stall should have an area of not less than 1.4 meters × 0.95 meters (length × width), with a clear height inside the stall of not less than 2.0 meters or 2.1 meters; the management room should have an area of not less than 2.2 meters × 1.1 meters (length × width).
  3. Aisle Width: For single-row toilet stalls with outward-opening doors, the aisle should be 1.30 meters wide (not less than 1.00 meters); for double-row toilet stalls with outward-opening doors, the aisle should be 1.50 to 2.10 meters wide to ensure smooth passage.

These dimension standards integrate functional requirements, ergonomics, and transportation constraints, and should be flexibly adjusted in practical applications based on the specific passenger flow, user groups, and site conditions at train stations.
