Installation Method for Toilet Sliding Door Lock

Admin September 27, 2026

The installation method for the toilet sliding door lock is as follows:

  1. Determine the door opening direction
Stand outside the door, face the door, and observe the position of the strike plate. If the strike plate is on the right, it is a right-sliding door; if it is on the left, it is a left-sliding door. This step is used to determine the direction of the lock tongue for subsequent installation.

  2. Draw a horizontal line and cut the installation template
Select an appropriate height on the door (usually level with an adult's shoulder). Use a level or a heavy object to assist in drawing a horizontal line. Cut the lock body installation template along the marked line to serve as a positioning template for subsequent steps.

  3. Chisel holes for positioning
Align the door edge line and horizontal line of the panel installation template with the corresponding positions on the door, and mark the installation points. Use an electric drill or chisel to chisel out elongated oval holes according to the marks. The hole depth should penetrate the door panel to ensure the subsequent lock body is installed firmly.

  4. Place the lock body and drill holes
Align the horizontal line of the lock body installation template with the horizontal line on the door, and drill a lock body hole at the center of the back of the door. The standard dimensions are 12mm in width, 85mm in height, and 65mm in depth. After drilling, clean the wood shavings inside the hole to avoid affecting the lock body installation.

  5. Drill holes for the strike plate
Based on the center of the lock body hole, drill a hole with a width of 16mm, a height of 130mm, and a depth of 28mm. Ensure that the strike plate (the lock body fixing plate) is flush with the surface of the door, providing a flat foundation for subsequent panel installation.

  6. Install the lock body
After confirming that the arrow on the lock body is pointing upwards, place it into the lock body hole. Put on the backing plate and adjust its position so that the hole in the backing plate aligns with the lock hook. Fix the backing plate with two wood screws and test whether the lock hook extends and retracts flexibly to ensure there is no jamming.

  7. Install the lock tongue and panels
Adjust the lock tongue according to the door opening direction: for a left-sliding door, the lock tongue should be horizontal; for a right-sliding door, it should be vertical. Pass the lock tongue through the cross hole of the lock body and fit it against the outer panel. Align the knob on the inner panel with the lock tongue and insert it. Tighten the inner and outer panels with two M4 screws. Before installation, test the length of the screws. If they are too long, they need to be shortened.

  8. Install the strike plate and strike box
The end of the strike box marked with the word "up" should face upwards. Drill square holes for the strike plate and holes for the strike box at the corresponding positions of the lock hook on the door frame. Insert the strike plate and strike box and fix them with screws to ensure that the lock hook can smoothly enter the strike box.

  9. Check and debug
After completing the installation, repeatedly open and close the door lock to check whether the lock hook extends and retracts and whether the panels are firmly fixed. After confirming there are no abnormalities, tighten all the screws to complete the final fixation.

Precautions: During the installation process, keep the door panel horizontal to avoid uneven stress on the lock body due to tilting. Wear safety goggles when drilling to prevent wood shavings from splashing. If the door material is metal or glass, use special tools and refer to the corresponding installation instructions.
