Toilet Sliding Door Lock Installation

Admin October 01, 2026

The installation of locks for toilet sliding doors can be carried out according to the following steps, with attention paid to the selection of locks:

I. Preparation Before Installation

  1. Select Lock Type: There are various types of locks for toilet sliding doors on the market, such as non-drilling bolt latches, thickened stainless steel bolt catches, and non-drilling door locks, with prices ranging from 1.24 yuan to 70.2 yuan. Choose the appropriate lock based on the door material (e.g., glass, wood, metal) and installation requirements (e.g., whether anti-theft functionality is needed).
  2. Prepare Tools: Before installation, prepare tools such as an electric drill, screwdriver, marking pen, and tape measure to ensure a smooth installation process.

II. Installation Steps

  1. Install Hinges:

    • Sliding doors typically require three hinges for enhanced stability. First, mark the hinge installation points on the corresponding positions of the door frame and door leaf. Generally, the lower hinge is about 15-20 cm from the ground, the upper hinge is about 15-20 cm from the top of the door, and the middle hinge is located in the middle of the upper and lower hinges.
    • Use an electric drill to drill holes at the marked points and fix the hinges to the door frame and door leaf, ensuring that the hinge axes are aligned and the door leaf opens and closes smoothly.
  2. Determine and Mark Lock Positions:

    • Based on the lock type and door leaf thickness, determine the installation positions of the lock tongue and lock catch on the edge of the door leaf. Typically, the lock tongue is located on the inner edge of the door leaf, and the lock catch is located on the corresponding position of the door frame.
    • Use a marking pen to mark the drilling positions on the door leaf and door frame, ensuring that the lock tongue and lock catch are aligned.
  3. Drill Holes and Install Locks:

    • Use an electric drill to drill holes at the marked points, with the hole diameter matching the lock accessories. If the hole diameter is too small, use a file to enlarge it appropriately; if the hole diameter is too large, repair it with wood shavings or filler and redrill.
    • Install the lock tongue part: Place the lock tongue assembly into the hole in the door leaf, fix the screws with a screwdriver, and adjust the lock tongue to伸缩 (extend and retract) smoothly.
    • Install the lock catch part: Fix the lock catch assembly to the corresponding position on the door frame, ensuring that the lock tongue can accurately insert into the lock catch.
  4. Adjust Locks:

    • After installation, repeatedly open and close the door to test whether the lock is flexible and whether the lock tongue and lock catch are aligned. If there is a deviation, slightly adjust the position of the lock catch or refix the screws.

III. Precautions

  • Before installation, confirm that the lock is designed for either the left or right side to avoid installing it incorrectly and rendering it unusable.
  • When drilling holes, keep the drill perpendicular to avoid crooked holes that affect the stability of the lock.
  • If choosing a non-drilling lock, ensure that the surfaces of the door leaf and door frame are flat and that the lock adheres firmly.
