Toilet Sliding Door Installation Method

Admin October 06, 2026

The installation method for toilet sliding doors mainly consists of the following steps:

Step 1: Fix the Frame
Use a spirit level to mark vertical reference points on the wall to ensure the verticality of the frame installation. Apply structural adhesive at the marked positions and preliminarily fix the frame to the wall. The adhesive should be applied evenly to avoid local voids, and a certain amount of time (as per the adhesive instructions) should be allowed for initial curing to enhance stability.

Step 2: Install the Track System
Choose between a ceiling track or a floor track (or a false beam structure) based on the design. If using a ceiling track, ensure that the track installation position is 2-3 centimeters lower than the subsequent ceiling to leave space for top finishing. If using a floor track, ensure that the floor is level and that the track fits tightly against the floor. After installing the track, adjust the pulley assembly and test the smoothness of the pulley operation by manually pushing or using professional tools to ensure there is no jamming, abnormal noise, or misalignment.

Step 3: Hang the Door
Hang the door onto the track through the top pulley assembly, adjust the horizontal and vertical levels of the door, and ensure that the gap between the door leaf and the frame is uniform (usually 3-5 millimeters). If the door is heavy, two people should collaborate to complete the hanging to avoid damage to the pulleys or track due to unilateral stress.

Step 4: Install Dampers and Door Locks
Install a damper device at the end of the door's movement path to control the closing speed of the door by adjusting the damping force and prevent impact. Then, install the door lock and test the fit between the lock tongue and the lock catch to ensure smooth opening and closing and secure locking.

Step 5: Finishing Touches
Apply glass adhesive at the joints between the door and the wall, and between the track and the ceiling or floor, for finishing. The adhesive should be applied continuously and evenly, avoiding breaks or bubbles. After the adhesive has fully cured (usually 24 hours), clean up any excess adhesive with a damp cloth to ensure a neat appearance.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check the flatness of the wall and repair any uneven areas in advance.
  • Reserve space for thermal expansion and contraction when installing the track to avoid deformation due to material shrinkage in winter.
  • Regularly lubricate and maintain the pulleys after adjustment to extend their service life.
