How to Open a Toilet Sliding Door
Admin October 08, 2026
The method for opening a toilet sliding door depends on the lock status and type. Here are the specific steps:

I. Opening Methods When the Door is Locked
If the door is locked, choose the appropriate tool and operation method based on the lock type:
Ordinary Locks
- Tool Selection: Thin and hard items such as a flat-head screwdriver, spoon, knife, card, or the tip of a screwdriver.
- Operation Steps:
- Insert the tool into the keyhole slot, twist it left and right to find the direction in which it can turn, and then turn it 90 degrees to try to open the door;
- Or insert the tool into the door gap, align it with the position of the lock tongue, press against the root of the lock tongue and gently pry it up and down while pushing the door inward to make the lock tongue retract and open the door.
- Precautions: Keep your hands steady during operation to avoid the tool breaking or scratching the door.
Simple Locks with Small Circular Holes on the Surface
- Tool Selection: Thin and long items such as an iron chopstick or paper clip.
- Operation Steps: Insert the tool into the small circular hole, push it to the right or rotate it counterclockwise to simulate the action of unlocking with a key. When you hear a 'click' sound from the lock core, the door lock is released.
- Precautions: Forcing the rotation may damage the lock core. If you fail after three attempts, stop the operation to avoid further damage.
Special Locks
- Magnetic Locks: Remove the door handle cover plate (usually fixed with screws), and use a screwdriver to拨动 (move) the internal iron piece or lock core to break the magnetic force and open the door.
- Folding Sliding Door Locks: Use a flat-head screwdriver to align with the lock core at the bottom folding position and gently pry it to make the lock tongue retract.
- Precautions: Identify the lock type before operation to avoid misoperation that may cause the door to get stuck or be damaged.
II. Opening Methods for Barrier-Free Toilet Sliding Doors
If it is a barrier-free toilet sliding door, it is usually designed for easy operation. Simply push or pull gently on the crossbar or large-sized handle on the door panel to open it, without the need for complex tools or skills.
III. Other Precautions
- If none of the above methods work, do not forcibly damage the door or lock. It is recommended to contact a professional locksmith or door repair service provider to avoid greater losses.
- Confirm the lock type before operation to avoid door deformation, lock core damage, and other problems caused by mismatched tools or improper operation.
