How to Install a Lock on a Toilet Sliding Door

Admin October 11, 2026

There are mainly the following ways to install a lock on a toilet sliding door:

Installation of Conventional Locks

Installing a lock on the opening side of the door is a relatively traditional and common method. This approach requires first determining the installation position of the lock, usually at an appropriate height on the opening side of the door, generally for ease of use and in line with ergonomics, approximately 90 - 110 centimeters from the ground. Then, use an electric drill to drill holes at the corresponding positions on the door and the door frame. Assemble and install the various components of the lock, such as the lock cylinder, lock tongue, and strike plate, according to the instructions. After installation, check whether the lock opens and closes smoothly and whether the lock tongue can accurately insert into the strike plate to ensure normal use. This installation method is relatively stable and offers high security, but it requires drilling holes in the door and the door frame, which may not be suitable for situations where one does not want to damage the door structure or for rented properties.

Installation of Hole-Free Door Locks

  • Screw Installation: First, determine the position of the card holder and fix it to the door with screws. When fixing the card holder, ensure that its position is accurate and firm to avoid looseness during subsequent use. Then, close the door, adjust the position of the buckle so that it perfectly matches the card holder, and then fix the buckle with screws. This installation method is relatively simple, does not require the use of glue, and has a good fixing effect, but it also requires a certain degree of drilling on the door.
  • Hole-Free Glue Installation: First, apply hole-free glue to the installation part of the door lock. Be careful not to apply the hole-free glue to the screw holes to avoid affecting the subsequent installation of the screws. After applying the hole-free glue, press the door lock firmly onto the door to ensure a tight fit, and then attach an auxiliary sticker. The auxiliary sticker helps keep the door lock in a fixed position during the drying process of the hole-free glue. Wait for the hole-free glue to dry completely, and the door lock installation is complete. This method does not require drilling and will not damage the door body, making it suitable for situations where one does not want to drill holes in the door. However, the drying time of the hole-free glue is relatively long, and the firmness of the adhesion may be affected by environmental factors.

Installation of Hole-Free Bolt Door Latches

The hole-free bolt door latch utilizes the tiny gap between the bottom of the door leaf and the ground or threshold, forming reverse resistance through an elastic buckle and a bevel self-locking structure. During installation, simply place the bolt door latch in an appropriate position. When closing the door, it will automatically engage, achieving a light-press-to-lock function. When in use, simply lift a hand to open it, which is very convenient. This type of door latch does not damage the door, walls, or disrupt the decoration, making it especially suitable for renters or old house renovations. It does not require complex installation operations and will not cause damage to the original door body and walls.
