Toilet Renovation - Mobile Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

Mobile toilets for toilet renovation can be achieved through homemade solutions or relocation methods, as detailed below:

I. Homemade Mobile Toilet Solutions

  1. PVC Pipe Mobile Toilet

    • Materials Needed: 4 plastic lids, screws and nuts, wheel assemblies, PVC straight pipes, tees, wooden boards, hoses, etc.
    • Construction Steps:
      • Drill holes in the plastic lids and install wheel assemblies; cut straight pipes and assemble them with the lids to form a frame.
      • Use tees and straight pipes to build the base frame, attach the wheel-equipped lids; secure wooden boards for footrests, the base, and backrest, and add handrails.
      • Edge the frame with hoses, cut a circular hole in the center of the wooden board to fit the toilet, and complete the assembly.
    • Features: Low cost, simple structure, but requires manual disposal of waste, suitable for temporary or emergency use.
  2. Water Storage Tank and Pallet Mobile Restroom

    • Materials Needed: Water storage tank, universal wheels, pallet, self-tapping screws, toilet, water tank, faucet, etc.
    • Construction Steps:
      • Fix universal wheels to the bottom of the pallet, place the water storage tank; cut the top of the tank to create an opening, stack two tanks and secure them with screws.
      • Cut an entrance in the tank, drill a hole in the floor inside and insert elbows and pipes; install the toilet, water tank, sink, and other facilities, and secure a wooden board as a door.
    • Features: Highly integrated, capable of flushing, but requires a reserved sewage outlet, suitable for larger spaces.
  3. Waste Tile Mobile Toilet

    • Materials Needed: Waste tiles, universal wheels, cement, toilet lid, sewage hose, etc.
    • Construction Steps:
      • Trace along the edge of the toilet on the tiles, cut out rectangular pieces with an angle grinder; install universal wheels at the four corners of the tile pieces and cut off the protruding screws.
      • Place the toilet back on the tiles, secure it with cement; install the water tank, toilet lid, and connect the sewage hose and water inlet pipe.
    • Features: Utilizes waste materials, environmentally friendly and economical, but requires ensuring the load-bearing capacity of the tiles, suitable for light-duty use.

II. Toilet Relocation Methods

  1. Short-Distance Adjustment: Use a relocator (such as a flat pipe) to directly connect the toilet to the original sewage outlet, suitable for relocation needs of 10-30 centimeters.
  2. Elevate the Floor: Reroute pipes by raising the bathroom floor, ensuring a drainage slope of ≥2% (i.e., a drop of 2 centimeters per meter) to prevent blockages.
  3. Change the Drainage Method:
    • Wall-Mounted Toilet: Move the sewage outlet to the wall to reduce the length of floor pipes, but requires pre-planning of water and electricity lines.
    • Floor Opening: Directly drill a hole in the lower floor to install sewage pipes, requiring consent from the property management and proper waterproofing.
  4. Construction Precautions:
    • After relocation, reapply a waterproof layer and conduct a 24-hour water closure test;
    • Use sealing rings or hot-melt connections at pipe joints to prevent leaks;
    • Insufficient slope can lead to poor drainage, so construction must strictly follow regulations.

Summary: Homemade mobile toilets are suitable for limited budgets or temporary needs, while relocation methods should be chosen based on spatial structure and drainage conditions. It is advisable to consult professionals before construction to ensure safety and compliance.
