Toilet Position Movement

Admin September 20, 2026

Toilet position movement mainly involves toilet displacement, with common methods including floor displacement, wall displacement, and same-floor drainage. Attention should also be paid to waterproofing after displacement.

Floor displacement: This is a relatively simple method. During operation, slope is a key factor, generally kept between 2% and 3%. An appropriate slope ensures smooth drainage; improper slope settings can lead to blockages during future use. For example, if the slope is too small, wastewater cannot flow away quickly and will accumulate in the pipes, leading to blockages over time; if the slope is too large, it may affect the flatness of the floor and cause inconvenience for other renovation work.

Wall displacement: This requires the use of a specialized displacement device. When installing the device, height must be precisely calculated. If the device is installed too high, the toilet will be unstable when sat on, posing a safety hazard; if installed too low, it will affect drainage efficiency, preventing wastewater from being discharged smoothly. Additionally, the distance between the toilet and the wall after displacement should be reasonably controlled; a distance of 30 to 40 centimeters is appropriate, ensuring comfort during use without making the space feel cramped or wasteful.

Same-floor drainage: This method is suitable for short-distance displacement, with drainage occurring within the same floor. All drainage branch pipes in the space are connected to the main drainage pipe within the homeowner's floor, eliminating the need to penetrate the floor slab for drainage. However, the distance of drainage and sewage pipes should not be too long, as this can easily lead to blockages. Longer pipes increase the retention time of wastewater in the pipes, making it easier for debris to adhere to the pipe walls and cause blockages.

Waterproofing: Regardless of the displacement method used, the displaced area must be re-waterproofed. If waterproofing is inadequate, water leakage to the floor below can cause trouble for the downstairs neighbors and potentially lead to disputes, resulting in unnecessary financial losses for oneself. Therefore, after completing toilet displacement, it is essential to strictly follow waterproofing construction specifications, perform waterproofing treatment, and conduct a closed-water test to ensure good waterproofing performance.
