Movable Washing Table in the Toilet
There is a feasible solution to move the laundry area into the toilet with a movable washing table.

I. Layout Adjustment Plan for Regular Toilets If the toilet has relatively sufficient space, a design of moving the washbasin outward and separating functional areas can be adopted. Specifically, separate the toilet and the shower area with a glass partition or a solid wall to form an independent dry-wet partition. Customize an embedded cabinet next to the washbasin and embed the washing machine in it. The top of the cabinet can be designed as an open shelf or a closed storage cabinet. The advantage of this layout is the integration of laundry, drying, and storage: dirty clothes can be directly put into the washing machine, reducing the crossing of movement paths; the upper shelf can store laundry detergent, fabric softener, and other consumables, and the lower cabinet can store clothes to be washed or cleaning tools. For example, in an L-shaped toilet layout, embedding the washing machine in a 60cm deep cabinet on the side of the washbasin not only maintains the overall space but also avoids the washing machine protruding and affecting passage.
II. Space Optimization Plan for Ultra-Small Toilets For ultra-small toilets of about 2 square meters, a strategy of moving functions outward can be adopted. Move the washbasin to the balcony and form a vertical layout with the washing machine: install a 60 - 80cm wide suspended washbasin on the side of the balcony, reserve a height of 65cm below it to embed a front-loading washing machine, and install a mirror cabinet or open shelves above it. This design achieves functional integration through space reuse: the water pipes of the washbasin can share the inlet and outlet pipes with the washing machine, reducing renovation costs; the upper shelves can be used to place towels and toiletries, and a pull-out dirty clothes basket can be set next to the washing machine below. Note that the balcony needs to be waterproof, and the washing machine should be a model with a drying function to cope with the humid environment.
III. Key Considerations for Implementation
- Water and Electricity Renovation: When moving the washing table, plan the inlet and outlet positions in advance. The washing machine needs to be equipped with a special floor drain to avoid bad odors. If it is moved to the balcony, confirm whether the balcony has water supply and drainage conditions.
- Size Matching: The standard width of a front-loading washing machine is 60cm, and the depth is 55 - 65cm. When customizing the cabinet, reserve at least 5cm of heat dissipation space. The recommended height of the washbasin is 80 - 85cm, which is in line with ergonomics.
- Waterproofing: If the washing machine is embedded in the toilet cabinet, apply a waterproof coating at the bottom of the cabinet. The balcony area should be painted with waterproof coating to a height of 1.8m to prevent moisture erosion.
- Movement Path Planning: It is recommended that the distance between the laundry area and the drying area should not exceed 3 meters. For ultra-small toilets, folding clothes racks or dryers can be used to solve the drying problem.
