Toilet Bowl Should Not Be Moved
It is generally recommended not to move the toilet bowl. If relocation is absolutely necessary, it should be handled with caution and in accordance with relevant regulations.

Moving the toilet bowl can lead to various problems. Firstly, moving it too far can result in poor drainage, preventing waste from being discharged smoothly and causing foul odors, seriously affecting the comfort of the living environment. Secondly, the toilet's drainage outlet is connected to the building's public sewer. If not handled properly, it may lead to a series of issues such as leaks and blockages, causing great inconvenience in daily life. Additionally, once the slope of the pipeline is altered, the water level in the toilet bowl may rise, affecting normal use.
If relocation is indeed necessary, the following points should be noted:
- Length Limit for Relocation: The relocation length should not exceed 60 centimeters, and brand-name products should be purchased to ensure reliability in terms of quality and after-sales service.
- Choice of Relocation Method: If the relocation distance does not exceed 15 centimeters from the original position, a toilet shifter can be used for simple adjustment. If the distance exceeds this range, structural modifications to the bathroom are required, such as raising the floor and adding water traps to increase the pipeline slope and ensure smooth drainage.
- Adjustment of Toilet Type: Consider switching to a rear-discharge toilet. The drainage outlet of this type of toilet is located at the back, making the subsequent work relatively less complicated during relocation.
- Communication and Construction: Before relocation, communicate well with the downstairs residents to avoid affecting them due to construction. At the same time, ensure proper sealing to prevent odors from the bathroom. The relocation plan should be well-formulated, and professional workers should be hired for construction to ensure the effectiveness of the relocation and safety in use.
