Toilet Bowl Relocation
Toilet bowl relocation can be achieved through methods such as using a toilet offset connector, raising the floor, or utilizing a portable adult toilet seat, depending on the relocation needs, spatial conditions, and user group.

Toilet Offset Connector Method: Preferred for Small-Scale, Short-Distance Relocation
A toilet offset connector is a device that adjusts the toilet's position by extending the sewage pipe, suitable for small-scale relocations of 10-30 centimeters, with a maximum of no more than 40 centimeters. Its core principle involves installing a sloped pipe between the original sewage outlet and the toilet, guiding sewage out through gravity. Two key points should be noted during construction:
- Slope Control: A slope of 1%-3% (i.e., a height difference of 1-3 centimeters per meter) should be reserved to ensure smooth drainage and prevent sewage backflow or residue.
- Flush Impact: After relocation, the increased pipe length may reduce flushing force and increase the risk of blockage. It is recommended to choose a toilet model with strong flushing power and regularly clean the pipes. This method involves minimal alterations and low cost (approximately 200-500 yuan for materials and labor), but it is only suitable for same-floor drainage or when the downstairs resident agrees to the modification.
Floor Raising Method: Solution for Long-Distance Relocation
If relocation exceeding 40 centimeters is required, the floor can be raised to relay the sewage pipe. The specific steps are as follows:
- Base Construction: Construct a base approximately 18-25 centimeters high using red bricks or concrete, embedding the new sewage pipe within it and ensuring a tight connection with the original main pipe.
- Slope Design: The new pipe should maintain a slope of 2%-3%, directing towards the main sewage outlet to ensure drainage efficiency.
- Floor Restoration: The base surface should be leveled with cement mortar, then tiled or floored, with the final height coordinated with the surrounding floor. This method enables large-scale relocation but involves complex construction and high cost (approximately 1000-3000 yuan). It also raises the bathroom floor, necessitating consideration of door frame height and usability.
Portable Adult Toilet Seat: Convenient Choice for Special Groups
For the elderly, pregnant women, or those with mobility issues, portable toilets such as elderly toilet seats, odor-proof bedpans, or bedside commode chairs can be directly used. These products do not require pipe modification and collect excreta in an independent storage tank for regular cleaning. Their advantages include:
- High Flexibility: They can be moved freely to adapt to different usage scenarios.
- Strong Safety: Equipped with handrails, anti-slip bases, and other designs to reduce the risk of falls.
- Privacy Protection: Some models come with sealed lids to reduce odor diffusion. However, regular cleaning of the storage tank is necessary to prevent bacterial growth, and these are only suitable for temporary or auxiliary usage scenarios.
