Materials for Mobile Toilets in Tibet
Common materials used for mobile toilets in Tibet include stainless steel sheets, color-coated steel, fiberglass reinforced plastic and metal alloys, flexible polymers such as polyethylene, and polyurethane foam, among others.

Stainless steel sheets are one of the commonly used materials for mobile toilets in Tibet. They possess characteristics such as corrosion resistance, high strength, and ease of cleaning, which make them perform exceptionally well in variable environments, especially in Tibet with its high altitude and significant temperature variations. In the manufacturing of outdoor facilities, stainless steel sheets can withstand the wear and tear caused by harsh weather and frequent use, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the toilets.
Color-coated steel is also an important material for mobile toilets in Tibet. It uses color-coated steel sheets as the base material and is internally filled with thermal insulation materials such as polyurethane or rock wool. Through factory prefabrication, components like walls and roofs are cut, shaped, and assembled in the workshop to form standardized modular units. This lightweight characteristic enables the modular units to be transported by road, adapting to the complex terrain and limited on-site construction conditions in Tibet. Meanwhile, the use of thermal insulation materials also improves the toilet's thermal insulation performance, allowing it to maintain a comfortable temperature in cold weather.
Fiberglass reinforced plastic and metal alloys are commonly used as shell materials for mobile toilets. These materials need to have good low-temperature resistance and UV resistance to cope with the extreme climatic conditions in Tibet. Fiberglass reinforced plastic has advantages such as lightweight, high strength, and corrosion resistance, while metal alloys have improved their low-temperature resistance through alloying treatment, ensuring that the shell will not become brittle or crack in cold environments.
Flexible polymers such as polyethylene are mostly used for the internal pipelines of mobile toilets. These materials have good flexibility and corrosion resistance, enabling them to adapt to the bending and deformation of pipelines during installation and use, while preventing chemical substances from eroding the pipelines.
Polyurethane foam is usually used as a thermal insulation layer filling material to prevent pipeline freezing caused by extreme low temperatures. In Tibet, where winter temperatures are extremely low, pipelines are prone to freezing and bursting. The excellent thermal insulation performance of polyurethane foam can effectively isolate the cold air from the outside, protecting the pipelines from freezing.
